I'm sorry but a lot of those are neo-G1 not G1.

IDW is neo-G1, as is Dreamwave, Prime Wars, 3H, RG1.

Splitting hairs. Not your thread, not your rules. If only Sunbow and Marvel count then that should be specified.

That's a tough one. If we are taking OP out of the equation than its basically a tie between Hound and Ultra Magnus. Admittedly it has less to do with G1 as a series and more to do with various incarnations I've owned of those two figures. I have never been disappointed by any mainline releases of those two figures.

That's the only two that usually count. And the story books.

As several others have noted Impactor is so cool and I can't wait to get his new toy. I also noted a new origins video on you tube channel transformers explained Impactor, which was a really interesting history.

Such a hard question. I have different answer for every iteration.

G1 Toys: Mirage (my first figure, so biased!)
    G1 Cartoon: Grimlock
    Marvel Comics: Nightbeat
    IDW Comics: Ironhide

Yeah, I have to agree. IDW being G1 was initially conceived when anything with the traditional characters from G1 were considered a continuation of that era. But if IDW is G1, then so is Cyberverse, Prime Wars and anything else with those characters - which is proven to be not the case.

It's far, far better to regard G1 as an era than anything else. I'd be willing to grant modern continuities featuring those characters as "neo-G1" because that indicates a new era of G1 stories not connected to the original era of stories. Honestly, you can break down the eras as:

    1984-1995: G1/G2
    1996-2001: The Beast Wars [RiD]

    Here we start concurrent eras:
    2002-2006: The Unicron Trilogy
    2002-Present: Neo-G1 [DW/Universe](IDW/CHUG/Prime Wars/Cyberverse/War For Cybertron)*
    2007-2018: Movieverse
    2008-Present: Aligned [Animated](Prime/Rescue Bots/nuRiD/Rescue Bots Academy)*

*I know Animated isn't actually part of Aligned, but it does seem to act as a precursor on the character aspect - especially the Autobots where Prowl is reimagined as Arcee but otherwise is basically the same line-up of characters. Likewise, Dreamwave and the Universe 1.0 acts as a precursor to our modern Neo-G1 era.

So, essentially, we have two clearly defined eras and then 4 eras that ran/are running concurrently. At least, that's how I see it.

Surprisingly, the current Modern Era seems to be exclusively Neo-G1 and Aligned- hence the angst from some fans feeling like there's no variety currently. Unless you're a fan of Rescue Bots, Aligned is basically finished as of 2017 with the end of nuRiD. That's roughly a decade of three concurrent eras of Transformers - what I think many will eventually call the second golden age of Transformers.

Always loved the Arielbots. Didn’t hurt that they had the best episodes.

Punch/Counterpunch because he's an Autobot with an hidden obscure personality developed in his job, and for the lighter things, just because he spends so much time in Decepticon HQ ,so he's the more related to my favorite faction :D !

As second ones, I also like Grimlock ,the Conan Autobot and Ratchet or First Aid for their role, they embody Autobot compassion, especially the second one also for his behavior in S3.
