Ok so I know at first this may sound like a stupid topic for a thread but meh oh well. lol So a friend of mine and I are having this little "discussion" about who's the better autobot. I of course say Jazz because he's mah favorite, well my friend says Prime. Now I know everybody's gonna say Prime because he's the leader but us two can't settle it so maybe a poll here can. Lol!

 

Though jazz is my favourite autobot I would say prime since prime can make bigger decisions that jazz most likely couldnt.

 

Better dancer? Jazz
Better leader? Optimus
Better maneuverability in alt mode? Jazz
Better for ramming Decepticons? Optimus
Better for hiding at a race track? Jazz
Better for concealing reinforcements? Optimus
Better friend for Blaster? Jazz
Better ambassador to the human race? Optimus

Who's "better"? Dunno.

 

I prefer Jazz but Optimus is the better Autobot because that's always his role. The perfect dude.

 

Optimus, but is this a specific continuity? If so, for movie, it be Jazz. For anything else. Optimus.

 

Optimus Prime.

Jazz is cool and all but Optimus Prime is the most iconic Transformer.

 

Jazz. He's actually interesting.

 

I voted Jazz... Mostly because he's my second favorite Autobot.

 

Today I voted Jazz because I was thinking about the IDW series and how he doesn't quit as much as Prime. Tomorrow might be diffrent though. Still I love me some Prime & Jazz equally.

Optimus Prime,The follower of Alpha Trion,and Leader of the Autobots. Jazz is just a Cool Bot.

 

Too many variables.

 

Well, Optimus is better at football, but Jazz trounces him in Basketball.  


Now lets go by real criteria. I'm just doing a ballpark average of their various
universe counterparts. Not going by Tech Specs either, just media portrayal and my interpretation of it.

Intelligence; I give it to Prime; Jazz is cool and levelheaded in a crisis, but he hasn't done anything that suggests advanced intelligence yet.

Strength; Definitely Prime. Prime is strongman proportioned while Jazz is made
more for acrobats.

Speed; Jazz's specialty. Speed has always been the one blemish on Optimus' leader high scores. Jazz on the other hand, is made for it.

Firepower; Jazz's greatest weakness since day one. However, this doesn't really disminish him (I always saw him as a superspy getting along with just a pistol) but Optimus is usually more heavily armed of the two.

Endurance; again, Optimus was made big and tough, Jazz was made for finesse and speed. He can't take alot of hits, but he should dodge most anyways.

Skill; If we're talking about combat skills, I'm going to surprise some people and go with Jazz. Optimus is a good leader, but he doesn't seem to have the versatility of Jazz.

Courage; Tie. Call it Good Hero syndrome, but I can't imagine either ever running away.

So, I'll call it 5/3 if you're going by their stats (maybe someone with a lot of official tech specs can shed some more accurate light).

 

I like Optimus more, not just because he's a leader but because he's in the lead...of every cartoon.

 

Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, Everything Beast...

 

Don't forget that he wasn't the leader of the entire Autobot faction in Animated.
