My dad was an officer in the Portuguese Army. Served in Africa during the war. Luckly he was not on the frontlines.
my dad and his twin brother (My uncle) served 2 tours each in Vietnam. They were both Airborne. First tour (together) in the 199th Light Infantry Brigade. Second tour, my uncle was killed the day after their 21rst birthday. 2 years later, he received the MoH. Dad gpt to see Nixon and accept the award for him.
My Grandfather served 4 years in the Navy, Dad did not serve, (Gramps was more my Dad to me.) I served 4 years in the Army 101st Div.
My father was an ambulance driver for the Marines in Viet Nam, my brother in the Navy. My father has some gnarly stories! He had to pick up dead bodies and body parts on the battlefield!
2 different cousins were/are in the Navy, an uncle did 30 years in the AF, and I have a crap-ton of good close friends in the various branches even now. I tried to go Navy, but my hearing wasn't good enough in my right ear
My pops from moms side was a paratrooper, fortunately he never saw 'real' action. I think his brother was also out there, messed him up enough that he started drinking. My family has weird problems related to chemical imbalance I guess

Pretty much all of the male members in my family who I know about have been in the military at some point. There may be more, but I have a very, very broken up family, so I wouldn't know. Grandpa Mac: Sergeant with the Marine Corps. Fought in the battle for Okinawa in WWII. One of my Grandma's(Can't remember her name at the moment): Met the guy above during WWII. She was a medic. My Grandpa Bud was in the Navy. And My Great great Grandfather Lilburn served in the Meusse-Argonne offensive during WWI. Won the Purple Hear due to machine gun fire to the hand.
When I say Terrorist I am talking about the ones who did shit like what happened with the twin towers where innocent people are killed. Accomplished or not, there is no redemption for that shit.
My dad served in the navy for most of the 60s and my great uncle was killed in the battle of the Kasserine Pass.
I'm thinking what he's implying is those who specificaly target civilian or "soft" targets to demorilize or "terrorize" a group of people/nation. Happens globaly, and is the cowards way to fight ones enemies IMO. At least the fuckers that would plant IED's along the road in iraq was trying to kill us, not a cafe full of innocent people cuz they pray a different way.
N&P, rise again to destroy the weak and fact-deficient!!! /tesla zap /monster groaning /random shrieking
