Top Five: Why Or Why You Would Not Buy More FOC Styled Data-Disk?

With FOC Soundwave and Blaster pretty much occupying the roles of a Classics or CHUG or Neo-G1 Soundwave and Blaster in most collections these days is it time for Hasbro, 3Ps or a talented Shapeways designer to fill in the blanks in their respective minion armies? Who'd be interested? Who do you most want done? Who should tackle the job? How would you want them done? Let us know why or why you wouldn't not but more data disk?

I's rather them design some better alt modes and as articulated as the Legends 2 pack figures that would fold up into a cylinder without the spring gimmick.

I might if they ditched that auto transform gimmick. Never worked right in the first place.

They already covered all of the characters that I would want. 6 decepticon cassettes/data discs and 5 autobot cassettes/data discs. no need for any more

I'll joke you not- A WEEK ago I went into my Wally World hoping that Cosmos would have landed, and instead it was full of FoC data discs!

Now I know not to look there for any new Legends for a very long time.

And I make a pretty good potato salad.

I'll never be satisfied until they make a Data Disk Scrounge to go with my Blaster.

The only one I have now is Steeljaw, and that's only because it was packed with Blaster. It's nice that Hasbro tried with the data disks but they're awful in every way. No way I'd buy any new ones.

NO! Those things shelfwarmed so hard they literally rotted. (well, the glue holding the packaging together did) They damn near killed the Legends along with it.

    ...
    ...
... to be fair, I wouldn't mind non-spring-loaded minions for the Deluxe Soundwave. Figures that could fit into his chest, maybe turn into weapons since there's only room for one in there, but they should have decent bot modes first and foremost. Those gimmicky Data Discs did not appeal to me at all (or seemingly anybody else for that matter, given that they didn't appear to sell).

I big NO THANKS. I don't mind the disc altmode but the spring loaded gimmick was some non-working BS. Add to that the figures complete lack of articulation (the G1's had FAR better) and shitty proportions and I'm 110% done.

The bird-mold ones (Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Sunder, and retool Ratbat) are actually quite well-executed, and unlike the rest, are pretty aces as far as the auto-transform and finished product go.

That said... I'm torn. Because I don't want more of the auto-transform data disks... but I would likely buy more if they released more. At the very least, we could use a Scrounge. Giving him the data disk altmode would actually make sense. But I'd be willing to buy Flip Sides, Roseanna, and Enemy repaints of the Frumble/Reject mold.

They were neat in concept but in hand they were meh. Maybe if they were not spring loaded they would be better.

My immediate response is "no," since outside of the Ramhorn mold, I don't care for them...

...but if the did the remaining Kiss Players cassettes in data disc format....and the Microchange redecos...and even obscure stuff like Flip Sides, Stripes, Nightstalker and Wingthing...I could talk myself into it, since I like cassettes in general.

I would, but I'd also like to see the auto-transform thing go away. I really love the idea of a standardized form factor for cassettes/etc.

You forgot a "Fuck no" option.

Also, not for nothing, but I make a Mustard Potato salad with Bacon & jalapenos that'll kick your nipples off.

only if they are articulated and get rid of the automorph and even then Id rather they stick with the current style of legends.
