I'm sure many of those toys are worthy, but I like the more cartoon like figures then the realism styled ones. Never cared for passed movie toys and these will be no exception.

This an old argument, but I''ll try... these days with present computer rendering.. an alien machine, that is PURLY mechanical... wont have any "soft" metals.. i.e. skin.. looks lazy.. so the characters HAVE to look like giant piles of metal scraps! Anything else will look TOO organic, and that choice was removed from the table the moment bay said yes to doing a tf movie. And the fact that the toys are trying really hard at looking as close as possible to "bays vision" is impressive... so the bay haters.. stop complaining about what the toys dont look like.. want g1? Only buy 3rd party cause its the only way you be happy!... with 30 years of transformers youd learn the only constant is they change! To anything OTHER then Geewun..

Why can't we go one simple thread about preferences without some sort of "GEEWUN" slam? Is that too much to ask? We don't pop into threads chewing you out for splooging over everything Bayverse, so give us the same respect for NOT liking it.

    Flexible metal is fine - it's just a nano-mesh.

Thus the expression "It's just a mesh wound"

Punching a Transformer is a bit like punching custard - you poke them in the face or hand - it gives - you hit them harder it goes rock hard - bit like Kinetic absorption jell does in some bullet proof vests.

If you looked at their face under a microscope it would look like a fine weave like chainmail I suspect.

The Dinobots look pretty cool so far, and I might just get some of those deluxes while I'm at it.

This thread has been nothing but," I dont want them.. theyre too movie like, and we hate that..." but the moment a G1 bash pops up people get mad..wow.

The people commenting, were respectfully stating their opinions on whether they believe the AOE toys were worth their asking price. Saying its not doesnt mean everyone's a GEEWUNNER. I have a rather large collection balanced between CHUG, MP, and The entire cast of movie figures, from each movie. Compared to the old movie line, the TOY designs are crap. They're full of faux parts and overall lackluster engineering. Am I bashing the movies? No. Am I bashing G1? Nope. I like the engineering that was used In the movie 1-3 toys, and AOE simply fails to deliver. Maybe you should read the reasons why people don't like them, instead of assuming they're immediate G1 enthusiasts. A lot of us here are very excited for the movies, but I'm pretty sure Bay fans are equally unhappy with the new AOE line as well.

I would rather buy 100 Armada Sideswipes and PRID Airachnids than blow my money on these wastes of plastic.

So unfortunate that after almost 14 pages worth of comments, the "civil" level of this thread had to be undermined.

Considering I have thousands of the things I think I'm on safe ground answering your question with a "yes". I should point out I specifically mean the AOE Generations.

Naw, I hate bayformers. Some of the transformations are neat, but I hate the aesthetics.

I'm trying to stray away from the line, but Drift is tempting me. And I still think Drift looks pretty pathetic.

Really want to save my money for AcceleRacers now. That hobby is becoming increasingly costly, and I think in order to fulfill this new hobby I'd be willing to part with TFs such as DOTM Deluxe Leadfoot. I think I'll keep figures like Animated Blurr though.

I'm pretty excited for some of the Generations toys for this movie. They look more physically solid than the recent generations waves with less hollow gaps and they're pretty much the same size and level of complexity that toys have been for the last four years. Plus early reports have put my only fear to rest, which is that they didn't have a lot of paint.

There are a few of the new designs I like, and at least two of the voyagers appear to turn upside down and inside out to transform and that's cool to me.

To keep my budget in order I try to only buy one figure from each main line. But I'm not the greatest at keeping those plans so if reviews start coming back good I'll probably end up with Slash and Hound.

The only thing stopping me from getting these guys is mainly their color schemes. I'm going to hold out to see if these guys get repaints. Especially the dinobots because they look really badass (I love the knight theme most of them have) but I'm just not a fan of the colors. At best, I'm hoping they get a more "classic" Dinobot repaint, being mostly silver or grey with other colors as highlights or at the very least they get repainted in colors that aren't so...bright.

That being said, Hound is a buy-on-sight and voyager Grimlock is a strong "maybe".
