This is more like a help for me, but which FE figure do you guys think would sell out first? I personally think the Vehicon for army-building.
Vehicon. Bulkhead second. I still dislike FE Vehicon a lot compared to the PRID but people still love that mold for some reason and like getting as many Vehicons as possible.
personal thread I'd say Starscream, at 6 individual color schemes already I feel like army building seekers. As good as the FE figures are Vehicon Pales next to PRID Vehicon....and he suddenly became super easy to find this week.
Arcee, BB, and Starscream FE were all readily avaible pretty much everywhere and were easy to obtain. Cliff is a great mold but there are ample zombie versions available. Thus it is Vehicon by default even if you think the mold sucks.
Vehicon's the holy grail after being an Asian exclusive (effectively) and commanding $70+ prices for nearly a year. How "good" or "bad" the toy is is irrelevant to how desirable it seems in that situation. Even I can't believe he's on shelves, at retail, in America. Makes him very tempting. ETA: And that's not a hypothetical, either; all the TRUs in my areas have plenty of the FE Arcee, Starscream and Cliffy. Vehicon is always wiped out. People are definitely buying him more frequently.
This is a no brainer, Vehicon. he is the first true army builder for an ongoing series we have had since Cybertron. He has been hard to get and and people will by multiples.\ Luckily i do not collect the prime figures so more for those who do.
Ok, Vehicon is an army builder but people aren't going to buy multiples of it. I would rather plop down money for a Jet Vehicon than buy two FE Vehicons.
I get the feeling they might shelfwarm down the line. Whenever my TRU restocks they're part of the leftovers.
my thoughts on the deluxes Starscream and Arcee: readily available the first time first edition got released. Zombiejumper: Arm Micron release and sdcc Rust in Peace, made him somewhat easy to get ahold of, if slightly pricey, retail version is redundant now sadly Vehicon: hardest to find of the four, army builder, slick design so that logically leaves Vehicon as the fastest seller. possibly with starscream and zombiejumper tied for second as for the voyagers? don't know yet, havent seen the case breakdown, much less seen them at retail yet
Vehicon! It's funny, I hear most complain about how much they hate FE Vehicon, and his back kibble, yet he is always the first to sell out.
Out of the choices - Vehicon Several reasons: While not as show accurate as the PRID toy, it's still a damn good figure, with a unique and interesting transformation. I find it a hell of a lot more interesting and engaging than the PRID toy's "shove everything in the legs" method. It's a Vehicon, and so it can be troopbuilt. None of the other FE figures can, so it's more likely that people will buy more than one Eric Siebenaler's last Transformer toy, and literally the last of an era - the last deluxe made before the new Hasbro design team took over and cutbacks started being made to toys, reducing the amount of plastic in them, and even the use of pins. I've seen a lot of people wanting one to use as a "Vehicon General". Better car mode. That said, I think it'll be a while before any of these things sell out. Most of BBTS' customer base wanted these things almost a year ago, and got them by whatever means neccesary. The only two I didn't get before this release was the Vehicon (too expensive) and Terrorcon Cliffjumper (didn't exist). That leads me into what I think will really sell out first: Voyager Optimus Prime. Why not Bulkhead? Bulkhead was the one toy EVERYONE wanted. Pretty much everyone who wanted one that would shop at BBTS already got one, and probably paid a stupid price for it. He's an awesome toy, but yeah, pretty much everyone that wanted one probably bought one already. Optimus wasn't as high of a priority for a lot of people. However, after months of people settling for that ugly gray-torso cape thing with the blue arms, I'm betting a lot of people will be eager to switch. Bulkhead's PRID toy isn't all that great either when compared to his FE version, but it's a hell of a lot closer than Optimus'.
Arcee and Starscream were released a year ago, pretty much everyone who wanted one got one. They're out. Terrorcon Cliff... has been a fairly easy mold to get ahold of, what with SDCC Cliff, GDO Cliff, and the fact that he wasn't terribly hard to get from Canada. Vehicon, on the other hand, is straight up the rarest, as well as the figure most appealing to someone who bought the RiD version since he's an army-builder. I kind of agree with you on the Voyagers here. Even if FE Bulkhead may be a better figure than FE Optimus, at the end of the day RiD Bulkhead is still a much better substitute for FE than RiD Prime is for FE. RiD Prime is simply unacceptable in my book, and I wouldn't buy it, while I'm sure that lots of people would resign themselves to get RiD Bulkhead. Certainly Prime is the one they're more tempted to doubledip on since seriously... RiD Prime is not very good. That said, collectors have SUCH Optimus Prime fatigue who knows?
Where I live, it's FE Optimus Prime. You can still find Bulkhead, BB and the other FE's around if you look hard enough. Vehicons are shelfwarming here. Both RID and FE versions.
