    Canon as in officially licences yes.

    I was talking canon as in to the cartoon which comics often are not.

    I read a synopsis of the mini-comic, and it had a really superficial explanation that G1 Prime and Megatron had both devised hybrid organic/mechanical technology.

    And that's about it. My memory of a 20 year old pack-in mini comic is not as sharp as it once was.

    Transformers has an infinite multiverse. That would make everything (including fanfiction) canon.

    The minute a fiction is officially released it is no longer fanfiction

    One could argue that in an infinite Multiverse the events that occur in some FanFictions maybe happening somewhere in the Multiverse but that doesn't make it Canon

    Canon is what's officially released

    No. Something has to be officially licenced by Hasbro to be canon. Fan fiction is by definition unlicenced non-canon fiction made by fans.
