Dunno about anyone else, but I found when I was young in the uk it was extremely hard to find combiner parts. Especially bodies. My first was a partial computron - got a second hand metroplex from a car boot with a full set of Computron parts, e.g. head, feet etc. within, then picked up scattershot, strafe, lightspeed and afterburner. Never found a nosecone - he had an aerial bot instead haha. I also had a full Defensor and Bruticus minus the torso bots.

First combiner that was complete was Superion. Then it was Piranacon. The rest was never completed but I did have a few memberes here and there.

I never got any of the original combiners. I always found them ridiculously undersized for what they were meant to be. It was only with Combiner Wars that things finally started to look up.

My first and currently only Combiner is - most of - CW Superion. We're still waiting for Wave 2 here in the UK. I suppose it does give us the advantage(?) of seeing how the Takara versions turn out first.

Well back during G1 I had Hotspot, Streetwise and First Aid, but never Blades or Groove so I'm not sure if that counts? My first complete combiner was either RID Landfill or RID Railracer, I got them both around the same time, and fine combiners they were too!

G1 Devastator giftset. It turned out to be a knock-off :(

I then bought the Seacons one at a time.

We could rarely get the leader robots of the combiners where I lived so it was hard to assemble a full combiner by yourself. I remember agreeing with the other boys that everyone had to bring a robot to school so we could combine them but sometimes one of them forgot :(

I think I use to own that same set. Is that the one where they all cam together on a car that came with no instructions and the box art shows them backwards. That took me FOREVER to transform without instructions because I was trying to match the box art and couldn't figure out how to get the arms on. They only combine one way so if you have the arms reversed like I did there's no way to attach them. It took me way longer than it should have to finally ignore the picture and actually pay attention to the pegs I was dealing with.

I also didn't find out till years later that G1 Devastator was never released on card and that what I had was in fact a knock off. I bought it off E-Bay when the first RID cartoon series was still on the air, shortly after getting the Autobot Build Team from that toy line. My dad actually ordered it because the Autobot build team reminded him so much of Devastator... and whoever designed the G1 Colored Decepticon repaint of the RID Autobots apparently agreed with him.

It's been a while, but I remember owning a knock off combiner. Can't remember of who.

My real combiner is probably the movie line superion and bruticus.
    Then a bunch of reissues.

This, so much of this. I still remember the day. I also remember being really pissed my parents got me the KO. And I knew it was the KO. So my dad said, "Okay, you don't want it. It's gone." And he took it away. In which case I quickly realized the KO was just as good as the real thing. And that we were poor, and I better get use to it and try to do something about it when I grew up.

Two good life lessons wrapped around 1 fantastic KO toy.

I had a full set of G1 Menasor and Computron when I was little. I'm going to assume I had Menasor first. It's been 20+ years, after all.

    Magnaboss.

Went through two of him actually, I remember the first one's eagle broke practically right after I opened him.
