Despite the obviousness, I'm still going with Prowl. He seemed too eager to have him dead when he turned himself in. With him still walking around a bunch of other Autobots in deep space, Prowl's pretty mad that he isn't within strangling distance of Big M.

That, or Whirl has officially went bonkers with the guy that he nearly beat to death that started the whole slaughter-fest is on the same ship as him.

 

Not just saying this for the usual crazy comic forum conspiracy reasons but could it be Tarn?

Hows about Cyclonus? he sort of formed a bond with whirl. He used to be bff's with Galvertron and might not like his current political change

 

Forgot about him. With Cyclonus pretty much a kick-ass peacemonger, there might be something about him and Whirl that might spur chances at killing the one guy who ruined there entire planet and all who inhabited it.

I think everyone is thinking a bit too high up.

Whirl is probably working with a small group of Autobots on the ship working towards mutiny. Who is in charge over all? Well that I don't know. It could be anyone.

I bet he was talking to someone relatively minor, like Trailcutter, Sunstreaker, or Blades. Also possible it was Broadside, Sandstorm, or any other Wrecker on board the ship. I have a feeling it could be Trailcutter though since he's, well, "The Catalyst" Riptide's role as "The Knave" also makes him a likely candidate.

But I hope its Blades so they can go on violent helicopter adventures together.

 

It would be someone who really hates Megatron. I mean I seen so far Prowl demonstrated that level of hatred. It could be a new person to the crew.

Nightbeat: Not really. Most likely hates Chromedome for his job.

Nautica: Hmmm got me

Mirage: He worked for the Institute as a guard. Plus he is a spy. Also the Decepticons in previous versions destroyed his home the Towers.

 

I laughed quite heartily at that. IDW should make that a mini series - Whirl & Blade: Violent Helicopter Adventures.

It could be a group of Autobots planning a mutiny, so that makes everyone a suspect.

If it is a low tier character (or group of them) I think mirage could be involved. I definitely think he has been up to some bad stuff in the past possibly involving the Decepticons and don't think it was a coincidence that he was one of the bots trying to listen in on Megatrons session with rung. Maybe was scared megatron would expose his (potential) past crimes

 

Starscream or Rodimus. Anyone else wouldn't have the good sense to use Whirl as any sort of secret agent.

 

Nah desperate. It would be for mid to low levels. I think some of the newcomers are good cananidates.

Would be cool if it was Arcee... just to see their "friendship" continuing from Dark Cyb.

But true, it could be a bunch of other Autobots already on board the LL who are not happy with Megs on board, if it's not to anyone in charge.

 

I haven't read anything since that last issue with Megatron walking amongst..his fellow Autobots.

I am excited about what can be done with Galvatron as Decepticon Leader but am not sold on Megatron as an Autobot. Maybe it's part of a greater plan, maybe it's not. I would have preferred a self exile on Megatron's part.
