Hasbro's Devastator was the first "official Transformers cannon" combiner.

But overall, there was many many combining robots before him of you want to delve into say.... Diaclone or...even earlier things.

The very first combining robot Ever as far as I know was actually Getter Robo (1974). and it utilized 3 vehicles that combined into three different giant robot configurations.

Canonically, depending on the universe, Nexus Prime is the first combiner, being one of the Thirteen original Transformers.

Going by real-world time, that also depends on your definition of a combiner. When I think of "combiner," for example, I think of the Gestalts, making, in my opinion, Devastator the first combiner. If you accept a "combiner" as something different, Reflector might fit that definition.

Otherwise, the concept of robots combining into some new form it hardly original to the Transformers; they existed well before then.

G1 Devastator wasn't just the first, but the only combiner for quite a while.

Actually reflector is not in the category of his own, Skylinks, Duacons, maybe a few others Fit into that category

Another thing to consider as I’ve mentioned before would be the micro master combiners, the ones where to robots formed one vehicle

So I agree with what you said before reflector is not a gastalt, But hasbro expanded the idea of what could be called a combiner long ago

Are there any other: one mind, multiple bodies one transformation? Cause the Duocons have been retconed to be two individuals now from what I gather from Generations.

I would call that a change in their history not a retcon, unless there’s a mentooon that they were “always” two

As to refelector, the one mind/3 bodies thing was mostly in just the original cartoon , my comment was more broad in scope since it didn’t seem the topic was g1 toon only

Considering that they had different names I always felt it wasn’t necessarily fact that they just had one in mind but that when they are in close proximity they seems to be a greater connection between them And they function in unison

Devastator was the first combiner, then we had (in order of creation); Menasor, Superion, Bruticus, Defensor, Predaking, Abominus, Computron. I feel that the Decepticons had more Combiners than the Autobots and thus had the advantage. Are both Omega Supreme and Sky Lynx considered Combiners?

As per the G1 cartoon, we really don’t know the order of creation since we did not see the creations of Abominus, Predaking or Defensor

For all we know they were extremely old

    G1 Sunbow; Devastator
    G1 IDW; Monstructor
That's the extent of my combiner history knowledge.

The first combiner ever is actually Gangor. He appeared in episode 15 of the 1963 cartoon of Astro Boy. 47 android robots posing as "wrestler robots" combined to form a massive centipede.

I wasn't blessed with the ability to toy hunt as a kid so I always had pieces of combiner sets but and a lot of them were incomplete.

Defensor was my first fully completed set and it took some effort to track down in the days where the internet didn't exist. I had a friend who had Superion and I was so jealous because I loved the idea of combining jets.
