Jolt had potential. Some effort in the writing and he could have been the young, reckless and idealistic one who gets traumatized through his experiences and becomes a remorseless killing machine (they call that a 'character arc'.)

    I also like his appearance.

    Who is jolt?

Answer: a character that existed in ROTF for the sake of showing off his car mode and having him connect Jetfire to Optimus. He's not much more relevant than that.

Jolt is a bot unlike any other, he fights Decepticons and doesn't 'fraid of anything.

He's and Chip Chase have been rivals for a long time in who is the strongest person in the TF Universe.

Yeah he was Ratchet's defibluator machine that's it.

He had a toy, I'm surprised they didn't just give his old toy a new head and make it Drift for AOE.

I'm not sure if this is a joke.
I mean maybe bc both Boba Fetf and Jolt have bit parts in the movies, and can be a bit over hyped.
However Boba Fett was about as million times more involved in the Star Wars movie than Jolt ever was. And that's not saying much.

Jolt is liked due to being a character that has great potential to be something. He is loved by others due to merchandising also. Also the act of fusing a dead body with your leaders body to make him an ass whooping machine is PRETTY FRAGGING EPIC!!!

Honestly, I thought Jolt was cool, but honestly he was just another movie Brawl to me. In the first movie, Brawl had a shit ton of weapons and looked like it would take few Autobots to take him down. Nope. He literally lost almost all of his weapons after he transformed and his death was mostly caused by the military and S7 soldiers. That's how it is with Jolt but different. I think he had great potential, but was just wasted between comics, which is what irked me, considering I never read the comics because I was never able to find them in stores and didn't really want to have to wait days after ordering them online, so I didn't know what happened to Jolt until I read about his death on TFWiki. That's my only complaint, well besides continuity, that I have with Bayformers. There are so many robots with potential, like Jolt, Brawl, Blackout, Shockwave, etc. and they're just wasted away because of plot.

All this talk about potential Jolt supposedly had, he had as much potential as all the generic Decepticon footsoldiers that got shot to death in ROTF and DOTM, why lift Jolt up above "Genericon who was shot in the face NR 13", both had as many lines and screen time.

Just another victim of the ROTF problem....jam a ton of characters in your movie and forget about anything like characterization and shit.

He's serious. Jolt and Boba Fett are characters that did nothing worthwhile yet are loved by fans.

Probably because his concept was badass. (I mean his overall character and abilities, not concept art). Mostly the same reason people love General Grievous from Star Wars. Both he and Jolt had awesome abilities (four arm dueling with blades, and electricity for Jolt), but sadly neither of them, especially Jolt, were given proper treatment IMO.

I did think about this when I was starting the thread. I guess similarities are there, if you study Boba Fetts screen appearence he's standing, standing again, says a line, gets digested over a 1000 years.

But in fairness, Fett did things of consequence in the movie, he wasn't forgotten about by the film makers , he appeared throughtout the series at vital plot points (and helped progress them), and although we never really see him do anything badass, his threat level and reputation are often inferred to by the reaction of other character around!

So no, I felt that the two characters are entitely dissimilar, and therefore did not mention him in my OP.

Boba Fett is probably more comparable to movie Sound wave.
Jolt is more like Landos co-pilot!
