(Note: thread will be full of fan rants. Nothing new)

I had a thread idea. If you were in Megatron's position, who would you chose to take out? Starscream or Dreadwing?

If obviously choose Starscream. The guy betrayed the Decepticons, nearly blew Megatron's cover with Orion Pax, stole load of Megatron's Energon, and stole the Apex Armor from Dreadwing. Starscream is nearly useless to Megatron. He's a snibbling coward who can't fight. He's virtually a threat to nobody, while Dreadwing was a good, loyal soldier. I think Megs should've chosen Starscream to murder.

I know everyone will go 'STARSCREAM CAUSE HE FUNNY'. But that's what I think, what about you?

If you see the two beforehand you'd say dreadwing...but the only one that has accomplished a lot of stuff is starscream. Sure dreadwing is kool and talks nice and all about avenging his brother but when it comes down to that moment dreadwing disobeyed a direct order right in front of his master and was about a murder a fellow con so......Plus i'm not sure if I could see dreadwing commanding the entire ship, while when starscream was under command he was gonna kill optimus and possibly could have defeated all of the bots aswell..

If I had been in Megatron's position, I would have allowed Starscream back on board, but I would have kept him locked up under heavy guard. Delivering the Omega keys would be enough to make me spare his life, but I still wouldn't trust him, by ANY means.

Of course, if it had happened that way, Dreadwing wouldn't have become so pissed off, which means he wouldn't have given the Autobots the Forge, and the season finale would have turned out quite differently.

If I was Megatron's spot, there would of been no Dreadwing issues as Starscream would of been long dead by that point. I would of killed him as soon as I would return, must like Animated Megatron had done. Not the drag back into ship and still online the very next episode like this series had done.

If I were Megatron Starscream would be dead already. Whether he would be killed earlier on or after he brought the Omega Keys, I don't care. He'd be dead, and Dreadwing would still be alive and loyal, so I'd still have a strong and willing Soldier

Still would have chosen Dreadwing cause I like Starscream in this show too much and we could use the open character slot. :p

Things failed/bad things done by Starscream:
-Capture Cliffjumper and Arcee, but let them escape to give Optimus Prime more troops
    -Lose Fowler
-Revive Skyquake, only to leave him to die in the same episode
-Find Megatron's corpse with the intention of killing him, until Soundwave saved Megs' ass
-Get hundreds of Vehicons and Makeshift killed w/o even getting the base location
    -Get the energon harvester destroyed
--Try to betray Megatron again, goes to get DE and revive Skyquake, only to lose immediately
-Get lured into cave with Megatron to be executed, escaped via sheer luck and almost killed/incapacitated again until Megatron saves him
-Gets beaten by Airachnid, almost gets captured by the Autobots, almost killed by Arcee, once again being saved by the sheer luck of Bumblebee showing up, betrays Decepticons totally now
-Fail in getting energon, saved by giving Autobots info
-Get beaten by MECH (in an even worse fashion than Breakdown too; Breakdown was cheap shotted from behind while Starscream just stood there knowing they were aiming at him)
-Get beaten by Airachnid/Insecticon, later ward off Airachnid while she's not looking to...save Arcee
-Find a bunch of clones because of luck, get them to invade the Nemesis but quickly beaten down by Megatron, one is able to escape because of luck

    By Dreadwing:
-Get beaten by Bulkhead, lose key
-Give Autobots hammer, almost kill Starscream but stopped short by Megatron

    Half/half things done by Starscream:
-Get quickly beaten down by Vehicons, snatch apex armor from Optimus and Dreadwing, eventually loses, but still keeps armor
-Loses apex armor, but gets red energon

    By Dreadwing:
-Take down both Wheeljack and Bulkhead, then later almost kill Optimus Prime, Wheeljack, and Bulkhead in one sweep, at the cost of his own life as well. Survives a situation Megatron thought most bots would die in.
-Get beaten by Airachnid, save Megatron's life later in the episode, become second in command.
-Lose relic, but also prevent Optimus from getting it

    Missions accomplished by Starscream:
    -Became second in command
--Kill off already defenseless Cliffjumper, bring corpse as test for Megatron
-Tricks Autobots and steals all the key
    -Gives idea to take humans
    -Take down Wheeljack's ship

    By Dreadwing:
-Became captain of an army of seekers
    -Destroy Seaspray and his ship
-Save Megatron again by preventing Knock Out from incapacitating Megatron

Overall? I would have kept Dreadwing around. Having someone other than Soundwave to keep your ass alive in a group full of backstabbers would be a good thing. Yes, Dreadwing hasn't retrieved any relics, but if it weren't for him, Megatron would have been incapacitated twice just in this season alone. Letting Starscream live wasn't a bad choice immediately afterwards because he offered the human bargaining strategy, but everything else is stuff Dreadwing could have just as easily done. Who knows how long Starscream is going to stay loyal. Starscream also failed an ass load of missions, which led to valuable troops being killed, while Dreadwing's failed missions (1) let Starscream get the relic, but a lot less potent than letting the Autobots get it, and (2) losing the key wasn't disastrous because they didn't have all four. Much less dire consequences than what Starscream has fucked up. There was also Breakdown dying, but that came back around when Silas came back with his body anyway. Though, this is all assuming Dreadwing would be on the Decepticons' side again after killing Starscream. But if I were Megatron I would have just killed him off all the way back in Rock Bottom.

It's funny. Starscream kept attempting to betray Megatron for all of season 1, he's still alive. Airachnid also betrayed Megatron a few times, and she's kept around for like 8 episodes before Megatron does something about it, and even then all he does is send two lackeys to attempt finishing her off rather than just doing it himself. Knock Out betrays Megatron a few times, Megatron mostly shrugs it off. But Dreadwing betrays Megatron once and it means instant death apparently just because it was "to his face" rather than behind is back. I wonder if Dreadwing would have been kept around if he killed Starscream behind Megatron's back yet Megatron still found out about him doing it..

    Dreadwing obviously.

Starscream likes to be sneaky but is very predictable, very easy to keep in line and is actualy useful when kept on a good leash.

Dreadwing decides he's against you he gives zero shits. He will disobey you to your face and go with whatever he deems right, the second you lose his faith you lost him. He's literally too good to be a Decepticon.

Starscream is devious, dangerous, and unpredictable(except to megs)
He may act the coward part sometimes, but he isn't one, he is a skilled fighter, who wishes to preserve his life. Dreadwing sadly deserved death. He is the most loyal con(but yet he disobeys megatron WAY to much. Dreadwing would never have gone back to megatron after what he heard happened to skyquake, but yet starscream was already with megatron. If he killed Starscream they both would have been dead to him. Megatron did the right thing.

I chose the third option because I would have liked to have Dreadwing join the Autobots. But to respond to the question I would have killed off Starscream.

All the things Dreadwing did weren't intended to betray Megatron. Until Starscream came back........ Then he feels like his side has made a wrong choice.

If I were Megatron, I of course get rid of him since he will always be planning to assinate me.

I would have killed Dreadwing, he disobeyed direct order right at presense of Megatron himself. Even Starscream would never dare such a thing.

As much as it pains me to say this, I'd take out Starscream. Sure, he's funny as hell to the viewers, but if I were in Megs' stabilizing servos, I would have taken a page from TFA Megs.

There's a part of me that thinks the gladiator in Megatron should have let them settle it themselves.

If we were talking about BEFORE Dreadwing decided to screw the Decepticons and hand over the Forge, Starscream, for sure. He's clever, but the problem is that he is a little hyperaware of it and as a result keeps coming up with halfass schemes and backstabs and, frankly, is usually more trouble than his odd good idea is worth.

But since we're talking about AFTER that decision, I'd say Megatron made the right call. Outright HANDING OVER a Relic to the Autobots is a pretty big betrayal, and he made it clear that his own directives were going to take priority over Megatron's own orders, even right to his face. Starscream may be a traitor and a screwup, but he can be kept in line as long as your eye is on him. Dreadwing, clearly, not so much.

This is after Dreadwing handed the Forge over, of course, but if I'd been in Megatron's shoes I'd have killed them both - of course, Starscream would have died in Out of His Head and I'd have killed Airachnid on the ship instead of sending her off into the woods with Breakdown and Dreadwing if I'd been in Megatron's shoes.
