If you have another option you would choose, please specify in the comments.

Jennifer Lawrence has the most star power and is a great actress, but I'm not sure it would work since she's under contract with Fox to play Mystique. My personal favorite is Julianne Hough.

After all, Maria Hill already tried to recruit her, convincing her to let Nick Fury get to know her.

I know she's a popular fan cast but I would go with Yvonne Strahovski.

I also wouldn't mind if Marvel found a lesser known/unknown actress for the part. They have done quite well in that department so far (Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Haley Atwell, Hugh Jackman, etc.)

I'm going to go with Kristen Stewart, because she's terrible and I hate Carol Danvers as a character.

Not knowing anything about the character, I voted Katee Sackhoff. I have no idea if she would be a good pick for Ms. Marvel specifically, but I think she'd be a great actress for the MCU. Especially if she was allowed to be the lead of a movie.

My heart says Yvonne Strahovski, but Charlize Theron is a proven Box Office draw and she'd bring a lot of exposure to this character. I don't agree that an unknown should be cast because I want to see a solo film and it's not possible to do it with an actress nobody knows (yes I know you'll bring up Chris Helmsworth but it's different).

My only concern with Charlize is her age. I'd like someone younger but aside from JLaw there's really few other options.

I would say Emma Stone just because I love her in everything, but I don't think she would necessarily be the best fit for this particular role.

I don't Jennifer Lawrence will want to work on another superhero franchise, so she is out. If she could schedule around Walking Dead, I could see Lauren Cohan fitting the role if she dyed her hair.

I'd say Jessica Biel. Assuming she hasn't been knocked up by Justin Timberlake already.

Carol Danvers needs to convincingly pull off apretty buff armed forces pilot and I think Jessica Biel pulled it off in 'Stealth'.

Hey, I'm all for Captain Marvel too.

Jennifer Lawrence is a great actress, but I think that despite being in her late 20's, she still looks rather young. I first recognized her for Hunger Games, where she played a teenager. I kept thinking "wow, she's young to be playing Rosalyn, a mother" in American Hustle. When I guess she really isn't, I just can't stop thinking she's a much younger woman. Maybe I'd wait about 10 years at the most before I'd consider her for Carol.

Charlize is a good choice. So is Yvonne. I was gunning for Charlize as Black Canary, whenever DC gets their shit together, if ever. But if Charlize went to Marvel as Carol, I could go for Kristen Bell as Canary, under the circumstances she sings a duet with Neil Patrick Harris as the Music Meister.
