James Wan. Also, if it wants to make a billion again it HAS to appeal for Chinese audiences. It definitely isn’t impossible, considering Aquaman made a billion somehow

Agree.. James Wan will be perfect choice...he know the action and know what audiences want.. He is one of the 3 James (James Cameron, James Gunn and James Wan), but I prefer him to direct Robotech 1st .. I hope so..

I really don’t understand the hype for James Wan. I usually don’t like his movies very much and find them very average. Especially the action films he makes.

Furious 7 wasn’t average action wise and he was one of the huge reasons Universal still makes Fast and Furious movies considering that movie made 1.5 BILLION. If anyone is to save this franchise, he should be up there.

Well it’s been confirmed he won’t be directing another Transformers movie and he’s done with them so thank god lmao.

Ari Aster, director of Hereditary and Midsommar.

And he should be given COMPLETE creative control. No matter what.

This is the only correct opinion, you can close the thread now.

Not to put your opinion down but am I the only one who thinks James Wan isn’t good? Like yes Aquaman was fun but far from good and super messy, poorly paced, underdeveloped, and kind of confused as to whether or not it wanted to take itself seriously or not.

Take off James Cameron (he’s bad) and Travis Knight (I loved Bumblebee but I don’t need a second one) and I’d agree completely. Too bad none of them would ever touch it. Raimi maybe but he seems to be more of a producer nowadays, Tarantino would never do it, Spike probably wouldn’t either unless he was given total control, and Jordan Peele MIGHT be harboring the secret heart of a Transformers fan but he said when asked about Akira that he’d rather stick to original films for the time being.

i don't think ari would care much for a franchise movie, i'd imagine he'd like to stick to creating new stuff

Nah you’re good lmao. In all seriousness I would LOVE to see Ari Asters twisted genius brought to Transformers but I know it would never happen

This. Aquaman was so bad. It has cool action scenes though.

I think Travis Knight has the chops to tell a more dynamic story if he was given the chance. Bumblebee was restricted in a lot of ways that he wouldn't be in a sequel or future film.

You're right about Spike Lee and Quentin Tarantino being 'above' this brand, but Sam Raimi I really think would take the job and be great at it if the right person from Paramount contacted him with the right offer.

Between his vision with the Evil Dead Saga and his ability to make comic book movies played straight and goofy really work for audiences and studio execs in Spider-Man I think he'd be perfect for a full ensemble TF movie.

Over half of that list is unrealistic and will never happen.

Probably won't ever happen, But I'd be damn to see these two working on a transformers film - Joe Russo & Anthony Russo. Again its a very longshot. But it'd be nice to see what they could do. But if we're talking full on action, Since it was said future films will have more bayhem. I think Zack Snyder could be a possibility. But thats if the guy isn't held for future films. But I'd love to see what he could do.

Indeed!, If either of these directors could do it, I think they make the films future astonishing.
