Boy, the live action movie have had a kooky spread of bad guys. Megatron, galvatron, and unicron all made sense as big bads, given their histories. Even scourge and quintessa make a certain amount of sense, as a heavy and a representative of the quints respectively. Others however, were way out of left field with relatively sparse fiction. The fallen was an obscure character from the comics, Sentinel prime a prick at worst, and lockdown is a quite recent addition to the canon. So... Who would you like to see as TF's next big bad? As for me, I could see tarantulas fitting in to a rotb sequel. He fits the aesthetic quite well, has a mad scientist gimmick that we haven't seen from tf baddies, and a conventionally scary altmode. Let Rampage be his bruiser, and we've got something. Alternatively, I would love to see bludgeon hit the big time. He's also very movie aesthetic.
Hot take: Megatron. Y'know, the guy who hasn’t been a main villain in 17 years, and even then spent the majority of that film out of commission? I really just want the main villain of Transformers to be the big bad for once and not second fiddle to someone who’ll be dead by the time credits roll.
Crazy thought, I know. I want to have one really great performance from both Frank Welker and Peter Cullen where they aren't bogged down by really lame dialogue and are allowed to truly EMBODY these characters since, you know... they're not getting any younger.
If the next one is the second chapter of a trilogy I'd have a basic Autobots vs Decepticons storyline with Megatron as the main villain; since GiJoe is now in the mix the Cons could ally with Cobra (maybe they promise the Cons X amount of energy resources if they help them conquer the planet or something like that). During the movie Optimus unsuccesfully tries to convince Megatron that they need to ally to defeat Unicron, and the movie ends with the Autobots and Joes fighting the Decepticons and Cobra (I'd have just the big 4 - Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave and Soundwave). Then in ROTB 3 Unicron destroys Cybertron and this makes Megatron reluctantly accept that Autobots and Cons need a truce for the time being.
I want to see Megatron as a main villian for the next film since we didn't see him as the main villian except first movie. However, I think Tarn and DJD would be great villians for the next film and Megatron is the final villian for the third film.
If we’re talking about the next live-action film post ROTB my is Beast Wars Megatron all the way. I’d personally love to see the Autobots and Maximals battle the Predacons. If we’re talking the Transformers One sequel I’d hope Megatron would be the soul main villain.
I seriously would have no problem whatsoever with this, so utterly disappointing has Megatron been in the live-action movies thus far (and honestly, that concept design from "Bumblebee" does absolutely nothing for me...Unused TLK Dragon Alt FTW).
Megatron all the way. I don't care who plays him, I just wanna see Megatron himself be the big bad for once
Insane, bonkers, nigh invincible Galvatron and Cyclonus as second-in-command. AoE was a nice intro/origin for live-action Galvy, but then TLK ignores the Shrexistence of the Decepticon Ogrelord known as Galvatron. If you want to go the Shrekformers route, you can have Onioncron and Farquaadus the Dreklord as his Shrekond-in-Command. Although after watching Skibidi Toilet 2345, I am down for live action Titans Return with Sh*t Titan as the big bad!
The fact Megatron isn't an option in this poll is diabolical. I want Megatron to be here and be the big bad and lose by the end but not die
Megatron absolutely needs to be the main antagonist for a TF One sequel. If there HAS to be someone other than Megatron, I would love to see some version of Tarn show up in this universe though as a secondary antagonist or a potential main one for a third movie. I always loved the idea of a character that takes the villain's ideals and motivations to the extreme, and it could make for a compelling story. Plus, it could give us a chance to finally see Keith David voice him just like Alex Milne intended.
