wow that is a little nutz... i see sets of four for the wheelie, rodimus,cosmos and warpath for something like 60 ish, but 43 for just the hot rod is STEEP!!!...

What is going on with these? I still haven't seen these anywhere in Southern Ontario. Are they a limited release?

 

Had to break down and pay $9 for mine tonight at a comic store, only place I've ever seen one. It is pretty tempting to try and get $40+ for him. Don't see any others up on eBay right now either.

 

...and to think I got myself an extra one from Walmart to customize  

 

I don't know if I would have paid that much for him, but these are very difficult to find in many parts of the country. I spent months checking and only found 2 cosmos and 1 wheelie. Hasbro has done a terrible job with the distribution of these and animated cliffjumper and dirge. Good luck to anyone that doesn't have them yet.

 

This is why I'm glad I don't particularly care for Legends figures. They're pretty cool, but I've never felt compelled to shell out money for them. I like Activators better.

 

This one popped up this morning and I thought it had to be a typo. Maybe not...

Optimusfan - that first guy is out to lunch. The second will probably move his auction at that price though, given that Rodimus alone netted that much recently.

 

And its gone now.

I'm so glad I found a set at retail - like brawn, BB, and Beachcomber, the new set with warpath, wheelie and cosmos are fantastic. I compared them to the Henkei version directly and thought that the classics versions were nicer.

Initially, I thought Rodimus was kinda blah, but when I got him I fell in love with him on the spot - he is so cute and the paint is really nicely done on his chest and face. Just a great little figure (although I don't think he's worth $43 - geez, I bought my Henkei prime for that amount. But I'm not a Rodimus fan-boy   - if i was I guess I might do anything to get him)

 

As an aside - I think this is the first time I've seen a Hasbro version sell for more on evilbay than the Henkei versions (although I think it might have to do more with inclusion of little Roddy).
