Since we know he's dead and he's one of the original 13, what do you think killed him? Could normal Cons done the job?

 

I don't remember hearing him getting killed at all only gone into hiding. If I'm wrong though someone tell me.

 

I thought he was dead when Optimus said you're contacting me from the Great Beyond.

 

it wasn't clear what exactly he meant. Optimus always says stuff like that, you can't take it for what it was. Hell the great beyond could be some old prime mumbo jumbo.

 

Optimus probably meant Alpha Trion's current hiding place.

(And don't give me any of that "Well in War for Cybertron/Exodus/whatever expanded material Alpha Trion is actually an immortal wizard who turns into a coffee-maker so he's dead in TFP"-crap.)

If he's dead, I'm sure it'll be some super epic exposition that we'll see in a cool painted flashback, Alpha Trion dying as he defends the archives and jettisons an unsuspecting Smokescreen into space or something.

What Optimus said was "So, you speak to me from across the ages". Optimus was making reference to the fact that Alpha Trion recorded the message at some point in the distant past, not that Alpha Trion was dead. As is, it hasn't been clearly established what happened to Alpha Trion after he hid the final Omega Key in Smokescreen.

Great Beyond could refer as beyond the current plane of exsistence as in another dimension , hopefully not bayverse.
