I didn't know.
Well to be fair, I'd just finished rewatching Beast Machines when that episode aired (or rather when I watched it online), so the moment I saw something that looked like a key, "Vector Sigma" couldn't help but come to mind.
Speaking of nothing alike, Power Rangers is on tv right now & the Megazord is fighting a giant chicken. Just thought that was worth mentioning.
i knew it was the key to vector sigma when he first revealed it
It took me a minute and then i knew.
I thought that too and when the key transformed in its smaller self, reminded me when Bee grabbed the allspark cube and gave it to Sam in the 1st movie
to be honest its more like he over analyzes for every possible outcome and that helps him be all crazy prepared in advance
i swear the guys like batman
come to think of it he is batman
I knew it was a lot more imortant the Optimus let on. For some reason I was thinking of Sari's Key at that scene.
Optimus is a bad liar. It was obvious that the key was at least an high level McGuffin.
The real question is, what would happen if/as soon as Miko manages to take the key from Jack.
I did. It looked and worked too freakingly cool to not be something important.
Peter cullen (as OP):I'm Batman.
I didn't know at first no, and was gladly surprised when Ratchet said it. But yeah, I liked how the key transformed like the Allspark in the first movie.
That or a Cyber Planet Key.......yeah who knew my second guess of Vector Sigma was correct.
Optimus just needs a snazzy tool belt with all the gadgets!
Or better yet, Dave Kaye as Optimus Batman...more of a Beast Wars mix!!
come to think of it kaye would sound damn good voicing a a cybertronian character asa batman counterpart character
dman it the kitbashing bug strikes again and it has bit me good with this idea.
picture a heavily kitbashed rid megatron asa transformers batman that can transform into this batwing style javeline
We already know the groundbridge doesn't have a key, because Miko can operate it herself (WHY????), plus Optimus is a HORRIBLE liar. His eyes were darting all over the place when he was telling Jack what the key was.
You're forgetting that Optimus called it the Key to the Ground Bridge power supply. Operating the Bridge is one thing, cutting it off from its power source is another matter. I think it would be perfectly logical to assume you'd need a special key to authorize that.
Upon review, I think the key in it's shape is a mild tribute to the Beast Wars Maximal ship, the Axalon. I think it resembles that a lot more closely than the original Vector Sigma key.
Or a room full of Scraplets!
