Which version of Megatron is your favourite? For me it's easily Beast Wars. Followed by the Aligned Games and Transformers Animated.

BW Megs is just gonna wipe the floor with the rest. The last time we got this thread, OP was wise to omit him.

A likely outcome yes but still I want to see how all of them compare to each other.

Okay, I will vote G1 Megatron if he will need help, although both G1 and BW megs are tied at 10/10 for me. G1 Megatron embodies that iconic 80s cartoon super-villainy, but is much more of a serious villain than say Shredder from 80s/90s TMNT.

Amazing evil laugh (check out the 18 min youtube vid "COMPLETE Evil Laughs of Megatron"). And every now and again he does something that makes me think "whoa, that's pretty dark for a kid's cartoon." (eg. Season 2 - The Immobilizer - check the scene that starts at 16m12s on Hasbro Pulse youtube.)

Full disclosure: I watched some episodes of g1 when it aired as gen 2 in the 90s, but really grew up on Beast Wars. Watched g1 + 86 movie in its entirety only this year.

Beast-era Megatron. In the 26 years since his debut, no one has come even remotely close to matching him, let alone surpassing him in my book.

Beast Wars Megatron all the way. Seriously. Genuinely good plans that, if not for timing and/or determination on the Maximals part, would have worked. Eliminating the early humans, trapping the Maximals in beast mode and hunting them, raising the Nemesis from watery depths, even an attempt at eliminating G1 Optimus from the picture completely destroying space-time for the Maximals.

After that I'd have to give it to Aligned/Prime Megatron

I'm gonna join the chorus and say Beast Megatron, because he was that good He's a good example how you write an unrepentant monster while still making him a fun character to watch. The writers really dug into how a malignant narcissist operates, and David Kaye brought that performance to life.

I enjoy the 2007 movie Megatron (I have the masterpiece toy), and especially the line "You have failed me again Starscream", because of its alignment between human sex aristocracy as a parody of itself and the Transformers' own tradition, an ironic balance.

Starscream fails Megatron, and the theme of the 2007 film is sexuality being a reluctant master, thus, there is a kind of balance between the humans and the Transformers.

Yeah... where are you getting this from. Nowhere in that movie is the film about that. Reading way too much into it my friend.

Funny how opinions differ. I was lukewarm to BW Megatron until that toothbrush scene, but that put an end to my interest. I thought his overall portrayal was ridiculously hammy, like amateur Shakespeare.

Anyway I love big dumb baby man Megatron from Cyberverse best because he's the only one who livestreams and had custom decepticon emojis made for him. He is the ONLY correct answer.

Mikaela is a symbolic reluctant master, of Sam Witwicky, because he looks up to her

Ummm… that’s the sex appeal that is seen in most movies first off. Secondly how does the appeal of one character to another (both human) define the “theme” of the movie. Again, reading far too into standard movie tropes. The outsider guy longing for the hot girl, only to get her in the end is in so many movies.

I guess the exception to the rule factor, lies in the movie's overall Bay-esque design. Bay's way is sex as a commentary, like the college in the ROTF being full of sex, and in the first movie, there's the quote by Maggie Madsen, about Glen Whitmann - "He's my (boss)" in response to being asked about leadership.

It's possible, that the doofusness displayed by Sam throughout the 2007 movie is a deliberate commentary by Bay, in relation to sex being proved as a capable leader, like when Mikaela proves that she knows a lot about cars.
