Yeah, this is pretty much the same with me. Those two Super Go-Bots were the cream of the crop for me. First, a Leader-1 that could stand next to my G1 Optimus Prime without looking sad, and a Cy-Kill that wasn't a parts-former? Who cares about back kibble, these wheels weren't getting lost! I still own those two figures, though they are tucked away in boxes somewhere in a closet. I'll have to dig them out sometime. Oh, and despite the irritating cartoon character, Scooter was probably my favorite of the regular Go-Bots. The transformation was pretty good, and I used to have my Dukes of Hazzard action figures ride around on him.
Pretty interesting that Bandai calls it Super Machine Men while leaving the Tonka logo and tag lines on the toy itself and all the bots names the same. Guess it was a legal thing? White Turbo, very cool. Never seen that before. I always found Scooter to be pretty awesome as Transformers didn't do anything close to scooters. Super Go Bot Warpath was pretty sweet too. Full of heavy die-cast, he was my super Airwolf as a kid.
That set has been a grail of mine for AGES! I even have the 4 'best of Machine Robo' recolor sets but I've never seen that set, or the recolors from it, in real life.
Tux. He's got a metal tophat, for goodness' sake. Runners-up include Psycho, Waterwalk, Cy-Kill, Pincher, and for some reason (probably just positive memories of playing with him as a kid) Scratch. Reminds, me, I think I still need to pick up a vintage Scratch. For Rocklords, definitely Tombstone, Slimestone, and Nuggit. Love those guys.
Cop-tur... he was my very first transforming robot. I bought him at a Big-K (a southern chain not to be confused with K-Mart... eventually absorbed by Walmart in the mid 80's). I can still see the display the first time I saw gobots. Before Transformers, before I knew there were good or bad gobots, he was just a cool dude that turned into a helicopter. He lived a good life. All of his chrome eventually flaked off. One of arms broke off years later, and he ended up a floppy mess. But he was well-loved.
Mine was the space shuttle...shuttle robo I think it's name was. It was given to me by a friend from my Elementary School days. Can't recall what happened to it though.
