What exactly makes IDW Impactor "evil"? He does some amoral things, but he's not muahahahaha evil.

Marvel UK Flame was much worse. Creating a zombie army and trying to revive an old abandoned plan of Megatron's to equip Cybertron with a giant planetary engine to turn it into a spaceship.

Sentinel Prime in DOTM takes evil to all new heights without officially declaring himself a Decepticon. He’s a stretch by all means but I think he technically still counts.

Flame, from Marvel UK, comes to mind, although given how Cybertronian society worked in the Marvel Comics (that is, originally everyone was an Autobot), it's possible that he isn't an Autobot in the sense of actually being part of the Autobot army.

DOTM Sentinel Prime, and any other flat-out traitor (i.e., someone who became a Decepticon and stayed a Decepticon), is likely to be high on the list.

    As for other potential candidates:

Blades: "Underneath Blades' aerodynamically designed steel skin beats the engine of your basic street fighter. He would much prefer using his rotor assemply to slash through a horde of Decepticons than to fly. But his function keeps him in the air most of the time, and that really fires his fuel. Not only is he prevented from engaging his enemies in hand-to-hand combat, but he can only strike at them from long-range air attack, which he considers unsporting and cowardly. "If I'm gonna destroy someone, I want his fuel spurting all over me, not the ground below," says Blades. But this doesn't preclude Blades from doing his job and doing it well, a fact of which his fellow Protectobots are deeply appreciative."

Slag: "Maybe Slag enjoys his job too much- after all, a more sensitive Autobot might regret the waste involved in reducing an enemy to a smoldering pool of liquid metal. Not Slag. If his metal hide could take the heat, Slag would swim in the puddle to celebrate. Perhaps even more than his Dinobot brethren, Slag resents the authority of Optimus Prime, and he's not too keen on the other Autobots either. He's generally considered a disruptive force and has been known to get into brawls and turn his fiery breath against his comrades. Nasty and mean-spirited are perhaps the nicest things one can say about him."

Twin Twist: "Nothing is more exhilarating to Twin Twist than the feeling of sinking his drills into a slab of unblemished carbon-steel. Like a child in a wading pool, he splashes among the shards of useless metal that result from his destructive fury. And his habit of showing off his talents to almost any target, whether an enemy Decepticon or a harmless lamp post, causes extreme concern for Autobot Leader Optimus Prime. Optimus realizes that the wrecking of property belonging to innocent Earthlings can only hurt the Autobot cause. Twin Twist's wild, uncontrollable nature is a big plus in battle, but many of his fellow Autobots think he's more trouble than he's worth."

Sunstreaker: "Sunstreaker is the complete egotist. He feels he is simply the most beautiful thing on Earth. He is constantly discussing his sleek lines, his aerodynamic styling and he is loudly and continually grateful to the Ark for giving him such a magnificent body. Sunstreaker is faintly contemptuous of the other sportscar Autobots, particularly his fraternal twin Sideswipe, whose design, he says, is spoiled by the rearmounted engine in his automobile mode. When he is in his robot mode, Sunstreaker is the most dangerous, most ruthless of the group; a calm, competent war machine. His biggest fault is his tendency to stop so that people can admire him when he ought to be tending to business..... A potent arsenal and tough hide like Sunstreaker's would be sufficient to preclude any serious weaknesses, it it weren't for his ego and sociopathic tendencies. His inability to be a team player and overriding lust for battle often diminish his overall value to the Autobots, and the ease with which he can be baited by anyone, including adversaries, often puts his well-being in serious jeopardy."

Repugnus: "Repugnus has a personality as repellent as his looks. He's foul mouthed and even fouler tempered, a vicious anti-social misfit. He's actively insubordinate, flouting authority and disobeying orders. Time after time he's been kicked out of the Autobot ranks, only to be asked back when a particularly nasty mission crops up. When it's just too dirty and low-down for any other Autobots to consider, Repugnus is the creature for the job! The more disgusting it is, the more Repugnus loves it. Some say he's just too nasty to wear the badge, more Decepticon than Autobot. But as any military commander knows, sometimes in a war you need someone who doesn't quite play by the rules to get the job done, so warriors like Repugnus become a necessary evil. Although what he does isn't nice, Repugnus is very good at it! He has skill and intelligence that put other more estimable characters firmly in the shade. Not only does Repugnus go under cover, ferreting out information from the enemy camp, he also spreads damaging disinformation and gossip, undermining morale, turning enemy on enemy! An embittered loner, Repugnus just loves his work!"

    -Budiansky's Transformers: Universe bios

IDW Guzzler had some serious issues. Literally drinking the fuel of your enemies is a little...unsettling.

IDW Whirl, perhaps? He was definitely violent and dangerous for an Autobot.

Evil? He did morally reprehensible things, but he wasn't really wrong despite how hard Roberts tried to tell us he was. Megatron is an evil being, and yet look what happened. What does being 'evil' even mean when that's allowed to happen, really?

And on that note, Autobot Megatron. Everything he did makes Getaway look like a saint.

You do know what "grooming" is, right? His initial heel-turn likened him to a sexual predator. No matter how justified every other mutineer was Getaway was definitively evil, even before the mutiny.

You aren't being serious, are you? That's absurd and sounds like something someone on Tumblr said. Besides, grooming isn't as bad as a quarter of the stuff Megs did in his lifetime. Also pretty sure what Megs did to Deadlock / Drift counts as grooming, or just run of the mill indoctrination.

I highly doubt that was intentional, because there's no sexual component and Tailgate isn't- I can't believe I'm having to argue this.

This is why we shouldn't make these characters too human, because it leads to commentary like this.

DOTM Sentinel Prime - lost faith in his own people and and manipulated a takeover of Earth saying it was to revive Cybertron but mostly for his own satisfaction of power and domination.

IDW Prowl - a strategic sociopath who treated his troops and comrades as disposable pawns in a game.

...That's what Getaway called it in the comic? He literally says something along the lines of "It takes time grooming someone like this". and honestly even if you don't believe the analogy it's pretty indefensible, what he did... Even if Megatron has worse karma juju or whatever, less bad doesn't mean better.

I'm aware what grooming is, and I'm aware that's what Getaway was doing with Tailgate. It's a bad analogy because these beings don't feel lust and grooming isn't mutually exclusive to sexual predation.

Less bad does mean better in this context, at least the lesser of two 'evils' unless you're willing to say slavery, genocide, torture and etc. aren't as 'indefensible' as grooming, which Megatron basically did on a planetary scale with his insidious ideology anyways.

I don't care that Getaway made readers upset because he took advantage of a naive character that a segment of the fandom babied, that doesn't mean he was wrong in his observations.

The closest thing IDW 1.0 had to a sexual predator was Airachnid, who 'adjusted' the mind of an unwilling Onslaught so he'd date his creepy underling, which everyone seems to forget about because we got to see yaoi robots being uwu cute.

Lots of Dotm Sentinel Prime mentions, but what about animated sentinel? At best he was a self serving jerk, at worst he was an authoritarian dictator.

I tried searching Mandarake recently as they still ship to the US (but s&h is astronomically high with dhl). Even a simple search for TF figures brings up all sorts of 18+ listings. Didn't realize that was actually a thing for bots.

Must now drink alcohol to cleanse memory banks...

Sentinel Prime because these days it looks like being evil-ish one way or another is his default characterization.
