In the G1 series who was the better leader: Megatron or Galvatron?

 

they are both cool leaders, but i am going for galvatron

When I was a kid, I would have said Galvatron. Loved him in Target 2006 and the movie. As he deteriorated into madness in the comics, I went off him. Though the US version seemed more together and likeable.

Though I kind of felt sorry for him in Time Wars. Had his face blown off and he seemed kind of pathetic when he couldn't understand why history had been altered. Plus I wanted him to beat Optimus Prime or at least be beaten by Rodimus.

The cartoon version was just annoying. Hate deliberately stupid or crazy characters. Only one who can pull it off is the Joker. Hate any 2d villain without any redeeming qualities or who at least can't be funny.

Don't get me started on violence loving thugs.

Funny as I write this. I realise I didn't like any time Megatron was depicted as crazy or his recurring defeats at the hand of Shockwave. I so wanted him to eliminate Shockwave and Starscream.

Strangely, it was the Straxus/Megatron clone I favoured as a kid, at least when it thought it was Megatron. Just prefer the more mentally stable villains. They seem more of a threat. Oh yeah, so wanted Megatron to beat Straxus too. I was very loyal to him as a kid. As I've grown up, I've realised what great villains Starscream and Shockwave are as well.

 

Galvatron Didn't fail as much as Megatron,and Galvatron leads his army in a more Brute way.

 

Megatron for sure. Its as Astrotrain said

"in the days of Megatron it was not like this..."

(he was complaining about the current state of the Decepticon forces)

 

i like them both the same for different reasons, megatron is great an original badass he is the ultimate decepticon feared nothing not even unicron, but galvatron was also pretty badass much more powerful in my eyes just weaker mentally than megatron, but if i had to choose a winer i would pick megs much more menacing

 

This. Why do people think insane people are always good leaders?

Galvatron was alright in the '86 movie, but in the TV series he was absolutely, positively, way too insane

Megatron. Sure, Galvatron is way more powerful but he's just as likely to use that power against his own troops as he is to use it against the Autobots.

 

Ok i woudl ahve tos ay megatron. Now i mean no offensivness but these kind of threads make me a little mad cause i always see these on youtube comments on videos and on the internet. Megatron and galvatron are the same guy and the same leader and they are not two seperate people. But i would have to choose mehatron cause when he was megatron he was smarter and badass. I lve movie galvatron he was an even more bad ass when he turned into galvatron but in season 3 i didnt llike him as much.

 

Definitely Megatron. I love the character of Galvatron as pure entertainment because he is certifiably insane but Megatron was cold and ruthless. He was a perfect leader for the Decepticons in a lot more ways than Galvatron though again I think Galvatron is awesome.
