From what I am gathering, most of us don't seem warming up to Kruger. I gotta admit, I don't think he's writing is that good. I feel the franchise needs a new writer...Kruger has written 3 films. I feel that's good enough But what do you guys think? Do you think there should be a new writer? IMO, I would love to have the Butterworth brothers, Christopher McQuarrie as new writers? Maybe a TV writer who is experienced in science fiction shows can also do well
New writers, new director who are actually fans of the franchise. I think the franchise needs a fresh new vision. Bayverse is quickly staling.
I really like what Kruger did with the two films he wrote (not three, he assisted with RotF due to writers strike screwing things up). DotM had a good story, and AoE was fantastic and set the franchise up for a great over-arching plot.
I would not be sad if they announced new writers. But I won't cry if they don't, either. Please, no. Fans in charge is the last thing I want. That never turns out well. I would like people who could respect the franchise, and make an effort to understand the franchise. But NOT fans. Never fans.
I would prefer a new writer. Krueger good but another movie would feel stale with him. Or bring in one or two new writers to join him at least.
Not fans like you and me. I meant a director and writers who not only excel at their jobs, but also are fans themselves of the Transformers universe. They'd bring a new and fresh vision of the franchise while doing it justice.
Kruger also stuck his damn foot in his mouth in his latest interview. Dude needs to go, and take Bay with him. Bayverse is staling.
DEFINITELY need new writers for these movies!! The previous writers have done some serious damage to the franchise. Inconsistency is their biggest problem.
But it is an understandable reaction to want fans in charge, seeing as how Bay holds the franchise in contempt, (he's admitted to this.)
Though the final product was better than I expected, I was disappointed that we didn't get a full reboot: as in new talent behind the camera and new continuity. Oh, I have every confidence we will one day, but 4 being successful has kicked that can further down the road...
I think nearly everyone wants a new writer. Seriously, with the money these movies make, they should be able to pay a fantastic writer.
