As much as I love TF1, I couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed with the lack of robots and robot action we got. I mean, I guess for an introduction movie it was fine, and I thought that film was where we got the most robot character development. But I really just felt blown away by DotM (I've seen it 4 times now) and as far as robot action goes I was completely satisfied and didnt feel like it was TOO MUCH like RotF but does anyone else thing DotM is the best of the 3?

    NOPE.

TF1 was awesome when it came out, it had a smaller cast so we knew them a lot more and it made Optimus Prime look like a remorseful leader when his enemies died. So much potiential for sequels too bad they failed to improve what the first movie started.

Nope, TF1 is still the best movie.

It had a simple yet enertaining plot, Optimus was Optimus and not Crazy Steve, it had the sence of magic and adventure with the theme of "a boy and his car" and it had an actual ENDING!

All of it's problems like the masturbaton jokes, Bumblebee peeing and stupid stuff like that come from Bay since he has a sence of humor of an 5 year old and if it wasn't for those stuff and instead more of Spilberg's "boy and his car" theme it would have been even better!

In terms of more action and robot screen time, I think DOTM delivers, but that's somewhat of an unfair comparison as TF1 was the movie that was trying to establish everything. I like TF1 the best because there was a certain charm to it that the others lacked. I also like the respective portrayals of Megatron/Starscream. Also, the other Decepticons each had a shining moment... they looked more like legitimate threats. After that, they went down like they were made out of glass and Chinese plastic.

    No way for me.

TF1 was a solid movie all the way around - had a tighter story, better focus on characters, had an actual heart and soul, and greatly benefitted from Spielberg's influence.

It was a perfect set up movie to a trilogy- the sequels failed to deliver on the first's promise.

I agree, I think that DOTM is the best of the three.

I love the 3rd as much as the 1st because they both give us a decent story with great action.
The 1st was more for the normal audiences and the 3rd was more for the fans is how I see it.

The 2nd on the other hand.... Give us nothing but action and horrible jokes and just want to face palm yourself though the whole movie.
It was not good for anyone as far as I see it.

I definitely liked DOTM better. It had the pacing, action, robot screen time and transformation sequences that I hoped for with ROTF but never got. TF1 was good as a movie to get things started, but ultimately DOTM delivered on all fronts... barring of course all the plots holes, inconsistencies, etc.

I liked it a bit more than the first movie, but they're practically tied in my books.

First one is a more balanced all around movie while the third one did the things the second one tried to do, but actually succeeded.

Nope. While DOTM is a good movie, with interesting pathos, an appropriate amount of action, and gives us the best portrayal of Optimus among the three films, it doesn't match the level of wonder and newness that movie 1 provided (Arrival of the Autobots anyone?). Perhaps if it had a proper buildup from ROTF it would edge out TF1, but since it's basically a stand-alone, DOTM comes in second.

I liked it more. No senseless robots pissing. Robot action that I could actually see. Also, none of the walking Cheeto that was Megan Fox talking about how she was glad she got in a car or something.

I like them both very equally. As a casual moviegoer I prefer TF1, but as a fanboy I prefer DOTM.
