I know that I am. So much so that I'm probably going to have to leave the theater and come finish the movie the next day.

I know that a lot of you on here think that you know everything, but the simple truth of the matter is that nobody except the cast and crew of Transformers 2 knows all of the robots that are and aren't going to be in the movie.
Trust me, being assholes to the new guy asking about Jazz's fate isn't gonna solve anything.

Personally, I hope that Jazz doesn't return. But, him being brought back to life isn't an insane notion, or anything. It's definitely possible.

Well, now that I'm done ranting, I'll await the inevitable, immature "Beating a Dead Horse" emoticons...

We already have a silver Autobot with a similar-ish head.

I doubt Jazz is back.

 

According to the prequel novel, should that be considered "canon," Optimus mentions that theoretically, a concentrated burst of massive energy could bring a "dead" Transformer back to life (i.e., if a group of supercharged Decepticons released their excess energy and channeled it into another Transformer). This is mentioned when he and Lennox figure out what the Decepticons are up to and realize that they're probably going to try and revive Megatron.
So it's possible, if not likely.

 

Only one Autobot should ever return from the dead. His name is Optimus Prime.

Nah, we must be due another 'I saw Thundercracker in the trailer' by now.  

 

It's not so much that Jazz ISN'T coming back (he very well could be but it doesn't seem too likely given that we now have Sideswipe) but that there are already dozens of threads discussing the possibility. After a while, another thread just starts to get annoying and pointless when posters could easily just contribute to an earlier thread.

 

I dont believe Jazz will be back although I wish he was. I enjoyed his character. Dont worry about comments from others. Just be humble. I have seen people get tore down from others time and time again. Its a part of message boards. One reason is because most have more freedom to express thoughts through an electronic device rather than face to face. You would think if people did not want to read a thread they would not comment on it. Cant wait for June 24th!

 

I like death. I like finality, I like actions having consequences, and I like it when stories matter. Jazz dying in the first movie succeeded in bringing a seriousness to the danger of combat, and made the important point of proving the good guys aren't invincible.

I don't like it when deaths get undone. As a comicbook fan I've had characters I've grown to love get killed, but I never wished for them to get brought back by some contrived mean. I may be sad a character dies, but it's never my desire for them to return. I've actively disliked it when deaths are undone that way, even when it gave me back a character I missed. Death needs to be respected as a plot element, and not just wished away for plot conveniences.

So I won't be laughing if Jazz comes back. It's not about being proven right or wrong, I'd merely be disappointed if that was a part of this movie. As cool and hip as he was, Jazz needs to stay gone. He would be completely redundant in ROTF, with a score of new, interesting Autobots who deserve the screentime which would be wasted on bringing him back.

Man, good thing he's staying dead.

Oh GOD. How many more threads do we need about whether Jazz is coming back or not? This forum BADLY needs a sticky with links to ONE thread on each topic; it'd be a LOT less ******edly cluttered with repeat rubbish that way.

 

Just wait until after the movie comes out. When we get a tidal wave of "So....Jazz didn't come back..." threads.

Honestly, guys. This thread was more about not being dicks to other members than whether Jazz is coming back or not (which I hope he doesn't). Geez, talk about "Missing the Point"...

 

Maybe everyone wouldn't be acting like "dicks" if this wasn't the 200th "Jazz is/is not Dead" thread.
