I've never understood the appeal of gigantic Transformers figures.

To me, they're clunky, ratchety, heavy, awkward, and an overall PITA to play with. Most of the time they're floppy because they can't support their own weight when standing, posing, etc.

This is it in a nutshell:

Leader Class Transformers are my limit. And even they're awkward to mess around and play with most of the time.

I'd much rather pick up a Voyager Class figure and below to play around with.

    Who else agrees? Disagrees? Why?

Me. I dislike them. It took me 3 years to finally reluctantly go down the Masterpiece path.

That new Voltron combiner is a fugly plasticy monstrosity.

I was fine with G1 Metroplex, and I bought Omega Supreme about 15 years ago. I've always disliked G1 Galvatron and Power Master Prime, but at least they scale with each other.

I'm fine with all combiners to date.

Transformers "base" bots are laughable. What a crappy base! I had the Warren set as a kid, and made a cardboard set for the Cons. I'm currently designing one from wood, to build this year for MP. It will be hinged to dismantle, and store in the attic. I just don't like big stuff.

Please tell me that there's a base mode for that ginormous Bumblebee :lol

Still got a huge need for that Maketoys Utopia.

Add they take up way too much space to my original post above.

I think they make good statues, but they are not fun to play with. As you said, they can't support their own weight. Also, in the case of the recent Metroplex and Fort Max Titans, their transformation is essentially laying down with an arm rotation. Not fun at all.

My inner ten-year old thinks they are super rad. As an adult collector, however, I can't find the room to display/store them or justify the money to buy them.

My problem with Titans is that their transformations have been pretty lacklustre. Metroplex just splays his legs out, Fortress Maximus kinda folds over. Neither look much like cities. I'm hoping that Trypticon looks better in city mode, and the prospect of those silver thingies on his back turnng into towers helps out on that front.

Since I'm mostly interested in legends figures, the giant cityformers are a necessity to me, so you can say that my preferences lie in the two extremes simultaneously.

I think it depends on what you populate the bases with, the smaller the robots the better. I find the base effect works best with WST's and Micro Machines, but of course your mileage may vary.

I am okay with Fort Max, just because I think having the Titan Masters around him gives a cool sense of scale. Other than that, yeah, toys like Unicron, Primus, etc are way too big. I usually keep the Constructicons in individual bot modes just because they're more fun to play with that way.

More of a collector of smaller scaled figures myself, but I really don't mind big figures if done right. Energon Omega Supreme seems like a genuinely fun figure to mess with. That giant Cybertron Starscream on the other hand weeeeeeeeeeell that's the kind of giant figure I just can't get behind. It's basically just a larger version of the far superior voyager figure.

    Big figures are awesome!

Generations Metroplex and Titan Fort Max tower over the rest of my collection as they should. They might be joined by Trypticon once released; hopefully I stumble across him on a random TRU stop like Fort Max.

You'll be needing Titans Return Soundwave and that Reprolabels disco set to expand the club :lol

I'd rather have smaller figures that have more detail/paint than a larger one without for the equivalent price. Not that Hasbro will go down that route and start charging leader class prices for voyagers with loads of paint. I'm sure most other people wouldn't like that lol

I like them when they're supposed to be large characters like Metroplex. I wish we got Tidal Wave, Broadside and Astrotrain as big as Fortress Maximus.

It's the smaller toys like Legends and Minicons I don't like it.

You bought the wrong Citybot, then. Buy a G1 Fort Max or a RiD Brave Max. Those are the real deals.

Astrotrain? What the hell have you been smoking? He in robot mode was the same size as Starscream, why would you want him in the same size as Fortmax and Metrople-
