Which 3rd party Devastator do you think is superior?

My heart belongs to Hercules. I don't know if it is because he was announced and seen first or the size or the tread forearms. I truly adore this beast but...

I am going to go ahead and say it. Although I like Herc more I think Giant is superior.

I think Giant is more detailed. Because of FP's Bruticus setting the standard for combiners, Giant fits in "better" in a classics collections. Giant has a support group, Bruticus and the future Menasor which will all be in scale with one another (presumably).

Herc would win if I were interested in a stand alone piece but because this figure will be incorporated into my Classics collection I have to give my vote to Giant.

 

And a big 'HELLO!' to the 6 billionth thread/poll about these two sets.

 

And look, a post that does nothing constructive. Surprise surprise!

On topic: You know, I think they are both great. I really cannot say these are not 1 and 2 in terms of all time great TFers even before they are in hand, so I really cannot decide.

If forced to, I may have to say Hercules. But that is like asking who is better, Lou Gherig or Babe Ruth.

That MP Soundwave is SIIIIICCCCKKKKK. The only problem is I don't think we will see it.

 

If I were to buy one it would be Giant. But that's because his size fits better with my collection. Design wise I have to vote for Hercules. I wish they made a smaller version for half the price.

To be fair, you're both right.

There seem to be new threads popping up regarding Hercules, and to a lesser extent, Giant. Hell, just about every thread turns into a debate between the two and which is the better "Classics" iteration of Devastator.

 

Well seeing as Hercules and Giant is just about the biggest toy news the fandoms has received since, oh I dunno, G1, are you really that surprised to see so many threads ont he subject?

 

I really hate to derail, but I think I'm more surprised that people aren't really seeing why thread redundancies are a problem, especially someone who has been posting on TFW far longer than I have. Couldn't we just merge every single Hercules/Giant thread in TD into one, much like the mega thread in N&R?

Anyway, for the sake of this topic, I'll state that Hercules is my go-to right now. I don't even own an Exgraver yet (currently on pre-order at BBTS), but I think I'll appreciate the sheer size of it, scale be damned.

I voted for Herc but Giant looks more like G1. If Giant was the same size as Herc, I believe more would choose it instead.

I would counter with, if Herc was more detailed like Giant, I believe more would choose it instead.

Also if TFC said they are making Brut and Menasor in the same size as Herc, I believ more would choose it as well.

Not to mention every Giant thread has more Herc supporters bashing Giant, when compared to Herc threads that have less Giant supporters bashing Herc.

Hell, there is even Giant bashing in Herc threads too, and I don't see much Herc bashing in Giant threads at all.


I think I might start another thread entitled "Who do you bash more Herc or Giant? and in which threads do you bash more?"  

 

I can't argue your thread results but the numbers you quoted are misleading.

Giant has only had two updates to support its thread. Since the inception, the Hercules thread has had numerous updates. If anything the TFC team has done a much better job at promoting their product.

I could have sworn that Herc was revealed way before Giant. 6days? Thats a lot of MAJOR news to get in less than a week.
