WIP: Whirl Update I did some work on my Whirl. I fixed the arms, they fell off after I took pictures the last time. I also gave him a weapon, it is the gun from Megatron in the classic Megatron and Optimis 2 pack. The same one I used for my Megatron. The funny thing is all I had to do was shave the peg on the gun a little and it fit into the small circle on Whirl's wrists. That is funny that it worked out. Then I changed his antenna. I like how it looks now, Kind of like an ear piece. I also fixed the neck base. It was held in by a screw and was unstable. So I fixed it. Update Forgot to say, his legs are Dreadwing's arms and the joint in the elbow are Unicron's fingers. Update 2 Added some fins to his legs. They came form a Movie Starscream.
Two things I'd consider here - mounting some mind of slot or peg or tab so the arms lay flush with the sides of the chopper in vehicle mode, and then some kind of side fins on the big leg housings. I was kind of not fond of the big housings at first, but they remind me of the pants that WW2 german officers would wear, which is ODD, but it's certainly unique.
i don't see whirl much as far as customs go, and this is quite a creative bash you got going on here!
I'm enjoying the bash so far. Once you get a coat of paint on it I'm sure it'll pop out a little more. You may want to consider throwing a few greebles (small rectangular bits of plastic) to the arms and legs to help break up the shape a little. Think the surface of the death star. I'm glad to see bashes of some of the less common characters.
This is looking great. The main thing I see right now is that the legs are really short. Aside from that, this will really look nice once you finish!
Not a bad effort, I think. I don't find the legs' proportions being that out of whack with the rest of him, considering the long-running joke about Whirl's robot design. Would you be adding weapons on the helicopter mode?

I like the idea of adding the fins to the leg housings. I think that I will do that. You statement about the WW2 German officers, gave me a weird idea. An idea that I will hot do. I just saying this because it is a crazy idea that I had. A Nazi Transformer, but that is a horrible idea. It isn't supposed to be Whirl exactly. It will an alternate Whirl if you will. From an other dimension, I guess. I will go into detail how he is Whirl when I finish him. First off. What joke are you talking about? Is it the one about the sking,becouse I got that covered. If it is something else, please tell me. I might be able to make fun of it. And I think that I will try and add some weapons. I had a different plan when I started this. I wasn't going to use the skis. I was going to add some landing wheels, but I thought the skis would play right to the original whirl. I'm going to try to add some weapons to him, if I can find some that I have that will go with him. I'm a little short on cash right now. I wanted to just use the original legs, but they were made of metal. I also wanted to give him raptor legs, but that didn't work out wright.
i like that, it looks really awesome! i really enjoy those colors done on that whirl. thanks for posting that pic.
It hasn't been painted yet, but I plan on keeping the origanal paint design. Kind of, but I will explain more about it when I finish my Mr. D. It is going to be a whole series.
