Was finally able to order it last week with a gift card my sister got me for my birthday, just in time for a price drop too, and am not so patiently waiting for my package to get here (there has been a single update on the shipping in almost a week..come on Amazon). So I was just curious how the set turned out. Is it really the entirety of the series or is the first 3 episodes/Transform and Roll Out not included again? Any special features beyond the commentaries (and are the commentaries just for certain episodes or the entire series)? How's the audio/visual quality? Anything else to say about it? Is it gonna make me want to go and dig the rest of my Animated figures out of storage?
it's the entire series, the new commentaries are the only extras, and they're only on garbage in, garbage out and transwarped. the audio and video quality is fantastic.
Pretty darned good actually. Wish they threw in some or all of the shorts. In all, I'll be really happy when I can find a way to import my discs onto my media player.
With regards to the picture, the episodes are all presented in the widescreen 16:9 format they were animated in, rather than the cropped 4:3 that they were broadcast (and previously released on DVD) in.
Are there really no special features on the US version besides the Commentaries? What about the Animated shorts? The Australia one we got has the Shorts, Toy Galleries, Character Galleries, Comic Galleries plus the Commentaries.
The shorts are awesome. They're not officially in canon though and the show works just fine without them I think. Besides was there ever a time where we had all five Decepticons hanging out together in the cave headquarters like in one of those shorts?
