My apologies if this is the wrong section or if linking to a video is forbidden...

I been taking my time off during this holiday season to archive some old VHS tapes to DVD when I ran across an old Transformers Commercial for the Headmaster Toys

I uploaded it to my youtube account, enjoy

    Autobot Headmasters

    Edit: Found more

    Targetmaster Transformers

    Horrorcon Headmasters

I remember that. What a great slogan change in that era. From "More than meets the eye" to "More...much more than meets the eye." That made me want to go out and buy a gazillion more.

I remember that one. I still never liked headmasters...

Targetmasters and Powermasters were where it was at, never owned a headmaster.

Well that isn't true, a headmaster came into my possession recently, but I don't have the body/vehicle.

Targetmasters and Powermasters just rock so much more.

Well, I think the sole problem of Headmasters was that they all had to have a pilot's seat for the headmaster component in vehicle mode which basically meant that a bulk of the body would have to remain unchanged over the transformation, leading into bricks with simple transformations. Targetmasters obviously didn't need them, and powermasters could just remain plugged on in both modes.

I'd still have multiple orgasms in my pants if I got Fortress Maximus, though.

I always thought they said, "four bucks more than meets the eye," because of that voice they used in the commercial.

That's a much better quality version than most that I've seen. Wish someone out there would upload quality versions of the earlier commercials (84-86). I hate to think of these being lost to time, seeing as they were such wounder pieces of work.

I have another 25 tapes left to archive, if I find more, I'll post them up.

I did record some fun Gi Joe, MASK, Centurions, Master of the Universe and other toy commercials I will post up when I get a chance.

While I'm not against Headmasters, the point is, you loose the head, the rest of the body is useless. With Targetmasters this is non-existent, and with Powermasters you can always disable the mechanism.

And I can't wait for links to those old MOTU, MASK and Centurion commercials.

i alwaysd liked the idea that the head was the main bot and the body was just a tool.
