Well folks, it seems it's almost my birthday, and the wife is only gonna let me get one. And man, am I having a hard time choosing! I have the choice of: Fanstoys Scoria Daca Toys Kronos As for some things to consider: I don't have Grimlock. I don't have any attachment for either character, I'm just wanting an awesome toy. Which would you pick?
Scoria is out and people say its awesome. Kronos isn't out so there aren't reviews yet. Of course once you have one dinobot, you probably will want the others.
Scoria will be the better toy by a country mile, but I believe Kronos is being made in very low numbers. You could buy Kronos, sit on it for a month or two as it sells out, fuck around with it, sell it at a profit, then by Scoria.
Can you actually find either one easily at this point? Anyways, hard to say when Kronos is not even out yet or been reviewed, and that you have absolutely no attachment whatsoever to either of the characters. If 200$ is your budget, and you can actually find either of them in a store, and you really don't care for either figure, and you absolutely cant wait for a figure you really feel something for or waiting on more reviews, then just flip a coin and go with it, as it might be fantastic no matter which way you go. Personally, I would always choose Fans Toys and MMC products over any others, but that is just me, cause I have total trust in both of them and I have seen the responses to getting fixes to any issue right here in the forums, and that to me is very important.
Im sure if you get Scoria, you're going to want going to want the rest of the Dinos like a junky looking for a fix tomorrow. If you're not willing to go through that then maybe you would want to take Elrodthealbino's advice and get Kronos, MAYBE in hopes of flipping it since only 1000 is being sold to the public. BUT be careful because FT is also making their own version...
Scoria... though I haven't got DCT kronos yet. That dude brings dino orgasm...... It even upgrades your MP grimlock.... Sick chrome !!!! design transformation on par or even above with MP grimlock....... Light up gun and sword !!!! and again Bling the hell out of the other TF figure.
Do you want an awesome toy for display, for play or both? Scoria, based on reviews and early impressions, seems to be a no brainer. Awesome build quality, ingenious transformation and impressive alt and bot modes. Kronos is a wild card to me as we still haven't seen any reviews or transformations. He'll definitely be impressive in a display, but I'm not sure how fun his transformation will be. The bot mode looks amazing, but the alt mode and transformation are my worries. Furthermore, Daca Toys has no track record to base build quality on. IMO, if you can hold out for a little while, I'd wait on the reviews for Kronos before making a decision.
Scoria is probably going to be one of the better figures of the year while Kronos I dunno i'm sure he'll be ok but nothing about him seems like its going to wow people. Heck FT is making their own Jetfire eventually, might as well just skip kronos and wait for him.
