I don't have one yet so I'd like to request for the opinions of those who have him or have several versions of him. I almost got AM10 Bulkhead last weekend, but it looked kinda small for a Voyager, the Arms Micron though is of particular interest to me. Thanks in advance, any input would be highly appreciated.
Definitely the FE mold. As for Takara or Hasbro, it just depends on whether you want a show accurate lighter green or dark metallic green. I have the Takara version and love the darker color.
Go ahead and remove the bottom two options on the poll. The PRID Bulkhead looks AWFUL in comparison to the FE. (I'm not saying it is a bad toy but compared to the FE it looks so much worse than it actually is.) As for the Hasbro vs Takara question, well there it's just personal preference. Hasbro is more screen accurate. If I had to do it over again I would look hard at the Hasbro version. I bought the Takara because it was cheaper at the time; when the first pics of PRID Bulkhead were surfacing. I like him a lot and the color is oh so pretty. But it isn't show accurate.
Nothing matches the FE. He is amazing. Contender for Figure of the Year. RID Bulk? Well he's alright, but given the choice FE Bulk blows him clear out of the water.
personally? i think the first edition only wins in show accuracy in weapons, but i like my bruisers to actually look like bruisers instead of bowling balls, so i like prid bulk's proportions better. you should get the cyberverse though.
I have the RID and He is pretty fun, and I personally think he is a good representation of bulkhead. I would get the FE if I had the money (which I don't) but I'm happy with the RID.
These, right here, are why I will endorse the RID version until I die. The head sculpt is much more accurate, and while the toy may be a little smaller than one would like, the overall build is much more 'Big Guy', whereas FE is more spherical by comparison. Also, you can get RID Bulky without breaking the bank or scouring the corners of the internet. EDIT: Just remembered you're in the Philippines, so I don't know how common any of those versions are at retail there. The last part might fall flat for you.
FE Hasbro. Absolutely no contest. More accurate and better weapon. I saw the PRID one at the store last weekend and it looked like utter crap.
Personally, my plan is to buy the RiD mold as he will fit as a CHUG character. I've heard there are QC issues with the TRU FE reissue.
Since the Hasbro First Edition Bulkhead rerelease seems to be plagued with stressed/warped arm connectors, I'd avoid that one unless you're CERTAIN you can get one without that problem. Otherwise, the Takara version would do well, or even the mainline version so long as you don't pay over retail for it. B.H. is available separately, albeit blue instead of green.
I don't understand the people saying that RID works as a Classics figure. No he doesn't? How do you come to that conclusion? FE Bulkhead is better in basically every way, if you want the superior toy, it has to be FE.
First Edition all the way. Now that the FE Bulkhead is available, there's no excuse settling for the PRID one. Truth be told the PRID one wouldn't be too bad in a world where the FE one did not exist, but that world does not exist at all. FE Bulkhead kills the PRID one in almost every way, and the areas that the PRID one does have advantages over, such as shoulders, feet and head, do not make up for how utterly bad it looks in comparison to the FE figure. People try to shoehorn everything into any category if possible. PRID Bulkhead looks way too much like a Prime character with the design aesthetics he's got going on for me to even consider him a Classicsverse figure. I'm willing to accept RtS Lugnut as a Classics figure because he's got the Classics styling going on. I can accept ROTF Lockdown as one even if he's got a lot of movie aesthetics going on, because part of his character is that he's a parts scavenging weirdo, so I can accept the movie look for that. But Bulkhead? No way. No matter how you cut it he's got barely any Classics aesthetics at all. He just looks like a Prime character with a bulbous body.
