The other day I was doodling some TF designs for my personal Transformers universe and I started to wonder how well would they look animated and how hard would it be to animate them in the first place.

So I started thinking of animation studios which done the previous shows and other studios which work I liked.

So I wonder who would you choose to animate a Transformers series?

I honestly wouldn't mind giving Toei another shot, but only with a bigger budget.

Also since I'm a huge Madhouse fanboy I would kill for a Madhouse animated show.

    What do you think?

Gainax. Or maybe Studio Trigger, since that's the studio Imaishi and the rest of the TTGL crew founded after they ditched Gainax.

    Yeah, let's go with Trigger.

    Akom. No wait...

Or Gainax. But like, GOOD Gainax. Their first-stringers. Trigger'd be nice too, I guess, but they haven't really made anything of note yet, so I'm still on the fence regarding them (the talent should be there, though).

But then again, I'd also want to see a Krantz Films Transformers and a Max Fleischer Transformers...

Personally, I'd like to see what Scott Fellows could do with Transformers, he's responsible for the hit Cartoon Network series Johnny Test and I really like that show so I think a Transformers series animated in that style would be fun and something new to the franchise.

I think Gainax would do wonders with weird otherwordly designs like say the movie ones.

Not sure how they would fare with more "classic" looking ones though.

No, dude, Gainax would kick even MORE ass if they went with a style like TFA, or even a TFA-G1 hybrid. Something stylized and streamlined, with an old-school super robot feel, like their work on Gurren Lagann!

Lagann feels like an old 70's mecha show with added insanity doth design vise and plot vise so that's why it works so well.

I guess if they went and embraced old-school again they would be able to do some pretty crazy stuff.

Dreamworks, especially if they dump the right resources into the series like they did for the Dragons series for Cartoon Network. I would love another hand animated series as much as the next guy but with giant robots transforming all the time it eats up animation budgets fast (ESPECIALLY when we're talking about the anime side of things) and we'll be left with roughly three minutes of action and twenty minutes of talking heads per episode.

I would also like to see a Sunrise take on Transformers.

After all those years of animating Gundams and other tons of mecha series I think they would feel like at home with a TF cartoon.

I suppose ILM is too much to ask for in a mere show? :lol

I suppose since I don't know much about animation shows that I'll hop on Shibaruma's boat and vote for Dreamworks; I profusely enjoy their animated films :D
