Rule number 1 no leaders way of out my budget
Rule 2 no ratchet i have dotm ratchet
Personally I think Jazz is the best of the line. Wee but fantastic.
you shouldn't rule out leaders. If you are patient and shop smart, you can get them used for a good price. I got SS Grimlock for 35. I wouldn't have liked him at 50, but for 35, he's a lot of fun.
One you may want to pick up is Shadow Raider. I got him on a whim and he is a whole lot of fun. Stinger (and by extension the upcoming KSI drone) has a fun and unique transformation.
here in canada hes 69.99 tax not included
i'm not saying get him in the store. Look at the BST board here. Look on facebook groups. If you shop smart you can get him for a good and reasonable price
shadow raider is the underdog of this line. the black-on-orange looks great and the masked face is gorgeous, and makes him an easy generic.
stinger's awesome too, wonderful transformation. i like the head on the ksi sentry better but ymmv.
Most of them are neat, in my opinion. Who is your favorite character? Of the non-leader SS figures I have, I think my favorite is between Optimus, Ironhide and VW Bee...leaning toward Ironhide.
I will shout SS Starscream's praises until the end of time. I still think he's friggin' amazing.
Jazz by far. I've found it pretty difficult lately to put him down. He doesn't even sit on a proper shelf. He's next to my bed just in case I can't sleep and need to fiddle with something. He's definitely helped me use my phone less in bed.
i'd highly recommend vw bumblebee
Stinger looks great in both modes and is great fun to transform .
Camaro Bumblebee is a lot of fun, but I have heard a lot of cases of bad quality control, though mine seems fine. Barring that, either VW Bumblebee (I don't have one, but it seems really good) or one of the Voyager Decepticons, as Starscream is amazing, and I have heard great things about Brawl and Megatron.
I personally have Stinger. He's a little tricky to get the alt-mode to work, but the robot mode is gorgeous.
I don't have many but I have to echo what others have said about SS Jazz. Easily the best movie Jazz (second maybe to HA Jazz) despite his size compared to other SS deluxes. He looks good in both modes, great articulation, and a pretty easy transformation that makes him a joy to pick up and mess with on a whim.
I would also lightly recommend VW Bee but be aware getting him lined up in VW Bug mode is pretty hard to do. I think he was designed with much smaller hands in mind Also his accessory storage is pretty akward in bot mode. He has optional face or mask parts but the one you are not using hangs off his door window on the side pretty noticeably.
If you find a damaged box on Amazon you'll get a good deal. I got my Optimus that way. The toy was perfectly fine and I saved almost $8 bucks. They're always going in and out of stock, so I'd just suggest keeping an eye out on any that you like.
Hope to get all contruticons to make devastastor
I would have recommended Jazz if it werent for the fact that the alt mode on mine cant properly tab in worth a crap. I also am still bugged by paying a modern deluxe price for whats essentially a big legends class figure.
My favorites of the line are Optimus, Starscream and Grimlock. Yesterday I found a Megatron in a Sears but at almost $40 I put him back. If they had an Ironhide I might have caved though.
There's a fix for Jazz. It tabs in perfectly if the peg that's under the roof of alt mode is essentially plugged into his butt fully. It sounds terrible and believe me it was terrible to write.
I started with, "I don't even like the movie toys we've been given, why would I buy any of these?" Now I say, "ALL OF THEM!!!". I buy the priority characters on release (2007 Autobot cast), the others I wait for sales/clearance.
