I have the choice of Movie Warpath and Allspark battles RB and CJ, or a loose smokescreen (Alt) which I hope to repaint into bumblebee and sculpt a new head.
    Thanks ahead of time.

Warpath is a cute little figure with a nice deco, but I would take an Alternator ANY day over a scout figure and a couple of LOC's.

But I guess it depends on if you like Alternators. :)

Well, some people find Alts to be too complicated for their tastes... they look amazing, but they're not quick to transform. What they gain in detail and size, they sacrifice in playability. Personally I love them... they feel like toys made for adult collectors, and are impressively engineered. I would definitely suggest giving them a try.

Also, a loose Smokescreen is still probably worth a lot more than the other figures you mentioned. So from a money perspective alone, I would go with the Alt.

But if you prefer simple, durable toys that are quick to transform and not too fiddly, you might prefer the other figures.

Check out this gallery of Binaltech Smokescreen (the metal version of the figure you are considering) from Seibertron.com. Alt. Smokescreen would essentially look like this, just with flat blue plastic as a base instead of metallic-blue painted metal:

    Good luck!
