I'd get figures of them. Of course there was never a toyline for that show.
There were some kinda...But yeah, nothing like what we were hoping for.
Meh...i'll say it again....
I'd invest in a new / updated Spiral Zone line without question if made in 1/60 , 1/32 or 1/18th scale. If they were made larger than 4'' i wouldn't invest.
In fact it's one of the few lines that i'd pay for these days.
Seeing what can be done today with old toy lines like Sectaurs really, really has me wanting a new Crystar line. I'd be all over that shit.
Exosquad all the way! Such an crazily under appreciated show (/toyline).
Saga of the Crystal Warriors.
I just came upon a video saying Brian Flynn has the TM to Inhumanoids?
Is that Super 7’s Brian Flynn?
If Super 7 released Inhumanoids I’d be all in!
Where? What video? Link? For the love of God and all things holy and unholy post the link
I don't know it was some fan made video, this is all a couple years old, but here is what I found on google:
Marvel Challenging Over Inhumans Trademark - And Being Challenged!
INHUMANOIDS Trademark Application of Flynn, Brian M. - Serial Number 86490483 :: Justia Trademarks
Is this the Super 7 guy?
Very interesting! I took some screenshots and tweeted them over to Pixel Dan to see if he knew anything since he's in the know on all things Super7 but he hasn't heard anything. He recently did an interview with Bryan but maybe he'll ask in a follow up. I would kill for some articulated 6 inch Earth Corp figures and figures crossed for massive Inhumanoids, but knowing Super7 they will be Reaction and I'll be honest I have no intention on buying at all if that's all they would offer.
Xpanders and unifighters as a sub-team from gi joe.
can Exo Squad be made better than what it was ? I've recently been checking out snippets of the animated series again and , naturally , the toys. The toy line , like Starcom, was ahead of its time and really doesn't need improvement other than perhaps new figure designs with modern sculpting.
I enjoyed MASK as a child. That line isn't a personal favorite but it needs a modern reboot. Exo Squad was and is damn near perfect. Perhaps a reissue more than a reboot would be in order.
I would be down for a new line of exo squad toys that expands upon the original line. I think that would be awesome to build upon it instead of rebooting or anything like that. Exo squad was insanely cool back in the day.
I was hoping Stretch Armstrong Stretchy figures would return. It was cool to see they did but I think only Stretch Armstrong is available and I don’t care about that. I want the Stretch Monster and Mr. Fantastic.
I can't see any company taking on a property as ambitious as Exo Squad, these days, and I honestly don't think I'd want them to. I simply can't picture anyone that would be willing to funnel what's probably a sizable budget (by toy standards) into an unknown line. There's no way that what would be produced, today, could compete with the original toys.
So, yeah, I agree. There's no way to make it better than what it was.
That’s a fair point! For me, added articulation here and there, and new designs, but you’re right that compared to other lines there’s not much to do.
I do find it crazy how under the radar the property is though - not even a full dvd release!
I disagree. I think there's a good bit of meat on the bone for upgrading the original designs just based on the amount that technology has improved since the originals were created.
3. Accuracy - in the show the exoframes completely enclosed the pilot. The toys had arms sticking out of the side of the pilot compartment with handles on the arms of the exoframe to hold.
4. Scale - moving up to 3 3/4 is arguably more viable now than it may have been back then, both in engineering and in cost.
5. Materials - the exoframes were fine but the plastic of the pilots was a bit on the gummy side.
And, my "bring 'em back" list:
3. Wheeled Warriors
I've said it before and I'll say it again, these are are the most viable and potentially successful lines to bring back IMO due to the customization and character build elements inherent to concept. The ability to sell either multiples of characters/vehicles to acquire spare parts or main characters with "upgrade packs" of equipment makes for a lot of commercial potential.
6. Spiral Zone
7. Inhumanoids(reboot with updated suit designs would be most likely IMO)
8. Biker Mice From Mars(possibly as a sub-line of TMNT; this being due to corporate ignorance assuming all anthropomorphic concepts go together)
9.Bucky O'hare(same issues as Bike Mice)
10. Captain Power as a series of Amiibo-style companion pieces to use in a game. Stays faithful to the original premise of the line while being practical for today
A question for the rest of you—if any of these lines are brought back, would you want them to have their 80s look with today’s engineering and articulation like the Masterpiece line, or have them with a modern updated look?
Personally, I’d want them to have their old look with the level of engineering and articulation we have today.
