I keep thinking I'm closing in on being done collecting because I've got most of the characters I wanted. But as that happens, the characters I didn't want before become more appealing. I never really wanted reflector because he was barely a character at all in the show or comic but he's becoming more and more appealing to me

That's how I've been. At first I wasn't interested in Sworder, but he's a fun toy and the weapons are pretty cool, too.

The biggest issue with KFC is that their version is sold out everywhere, though I think a reissue is coming to BBTS.

This was me as well and then I ended up getting 2 reflectors.

Part of it was that reflector was kind of an enigma when I was a kid. The toy looked nothing like the toon representation and, at the time, I wished there was a better version. Now there are multiple better versions...

These are all nice looking sets, and kudos to FT and KFC, but MT is what I wanted. With all of these versions, everyone wins regardless of what they buy. I like that they are posable and don't require parts forming to form a basic camera. The transformation isn't smooth as butter, but isn't aggravating. If you're looking for something that you want to fiddle around with, go MT.

I've got FT Spotter. Great bot modes and fun to pose! I will say its the physically hardest transformation I've had to do due to the crazy tight joints on almost all parts. Literally sore fingertips after the first run-through

I think part of it is that with MP Megatron on the horizon, I want to round out my year 1 'cons. Probably gonna get MMC's Insecticons, but sadly no 3P Devastator scratches the MP itch for me so far. But the Reflectors are all cool in different ways.

So you want cartoon accuracy? Okay. Just get Fanstoys and be done with the debate.

FYI, if you decide to go with MT, you can get them for around $115 shipped if you're in the US. It's the cheapest option I found.

I see FT reduced in price on a few different sites too.

I was set on KFC. But, my wife being the photographer, she decided it was her responsibility to pick one and but it for me.

She got the FT Spotters. It was the bottom of my list, but after getting in hand, and on my shelf, I'm very happy with it.

She's a woman. They have good taste.

And are more informed on what looks good/handsome/proportionate. FT Spotter for the win.

But I'm a woman and I chose Maketoys! OMG! Transformers paradox!!! I guess we're both right and both toys are just awesome in the eye of the beholder ;)

FWIW, I also think FansToys is prettier, but the faces, articulation and loose flaps swayed me to go Maketoys instead.

Loose flaps sink...alien robots with the inexplicable ability to clone themselves and turn into an alt mode that doesn't fit in with all the weapons of war his comrades change into?

Earlier today, after reading this thread, I figured I was sold on KFC. I just got done watching reviews for all of them and KFC's backpacks turned me off (they're too visible even from the front). FT's nightmare transformation turned me off as well. I think, if I were going to get one, it would be Maketoys, but frankly none of them look fun to transform. It seems strange that a transformation that's basically "fold three guys into three little boxes" would be so fiddly and difficult. I might still pick up MT some day but it's gone from "Hmm that looks pretty nice" to "Eh, it's on my list but pretty much at the bottom."
