These movies had some of the best trailers and advertising ive ever scene. My favorite would be the trailer for the first movie. Steve jablonsky's music at the end was just awesome.

I'd say: a tie between the first movie, for the soundtrack and setting up the great robot carnage, and DOTM, for the soundtrack and showing off an even bigger conflict than the other two  

 

DotM trailer. Did it's job by suggesting that epic was en route while not giving away what said epicness would be, unlike RotF, which showed a ton of money shots which got me excited to see it but not like DotM's did by revealing just enough.

Plus, DotM's trailer (once you see the movie) was shown to be great at disguising things that were going on in the movie.

 

No matter how much I HATED DOT|M, it's trailer was the best.

 

DOTM'S trailer is just full of epicness that I still re-watch it. The music is fantastic and it doesn't give away too much or too less, like the first 2.

 

I haven't seen a reasonable question in the movie forums for quite some time!

Anywho.. The music in the trailer and just the pure epicness of it.

 

DOTM trailer. It was epic and did not reveal the full story like ROTF's trailer pretty much did. So when Sentinel betrayed the Autobots, more people were actually shocked instead of saying "Old news. We all saw that coming."

 

Definitely DOTM.

 

Since I wasn't in country to see trailers for the first two, I'd say Dark of the Moon.

The trailer was more interesting than the actual movie...

 

I remember really liking the ROTF trailer for some odd reason. DOTM was also good...

 

Even though the movie sucked nuts, I can still get excited when I rewatch the teaser trailer for RotF, so that must say something.

It's also probably the reason I still love the scene of Sideways transforming in the alleyway.

DotM trailer was pretty awesome too though.

ROTF, if only because of Scorponok's theme.

 

While I love the full-lengthy one from DOTM that had that electrical bass-beat sound, I still have a soft spot for that first full-length trailer for TF in 2007.

The one where we have Keller saying 'our enemy can take any shape. They could be, anywhere.' Everything about that trailer was exciting, and energetic, even when Jazz squeaked.

 

I liked RotF trailer, they were funny. I liked the twins, and bumblebee's pointer sisters impression.

 

In terms of the actual "theatrical trailer" for each movie (the ~2-2.5 minute one that gives a brief breakdown of what the actual story is, aka, not a "teaser"), I'm not sure. They all have cool moments.

Transformers really gave you an eerie "alien invasion" feel to it, while RotF made you feel (shame it didn't turn out that way) like there was a much darker tone to it. DotM made it feel like it was going to be much more of the Transformers' story (which in some ways it was). Think about it. Transformers and RotF had that ever-present "this is Sam's story about his high school/car or Sam's story about his university adventure"-reminder with each trailer, while DotM's theatrical trailer didn't have anything to do with Sam's after university job. It was all "the Autobots have been lied to, that was a grave mistake, now the earth is being invaded again, giant spaceships, moon landing, espionage, etc.. Again, too bad the movie didn't turn out as much like that as I'd hoped.

Overall, I'd say DotM.

DOTM. It was probably the best trailer ever, it really got you pumped. However, the trailer for the 2007 movie is also very great in its own right, seeing how it really introduces you to what kind of unseen epicness is going to be in the movie.

However, with that said... the early teasers for ROTF were OUTSTANDING. I might even say from a marketing perspective, ROTF did the best by far. The movie I pieced together out of those early trailers would have been the best Transformers movie yet.

 

DOTM. The Score and the action scenes made me believe I'd love it.
