But aren't the established film techniques themselves a matter of opinion?

Yep. The only thing that can make something objective if what is being used to measure its objectivity is pure logic and rationality. And even then there would be room for gray areas. And film techniques are not based on logic, just made up rules.
Either way no one on this site wants to accept the subjectivity of things. Everyone has to be objectively right on everything.

Bumblebee, followed by '86, and '07 in a distant third place.

For me 1986. Then Bumblebee. Followed far by 07. I really don't care for the rest. I've had to rewatch all of them quite a bit recently and of all the times I've forgiven 2-5 in parts went right out the window.

Like I said in my last post, there will always be that little bit of opinion still in there. It's human nature. And yes, one person might think film A is objectively better than film B and the other person might think film B is objectively better than film A. Please don't misunderstand, I'm not saying everyone would or must agree on which film is objectively better. It still comes down to a personal level and something only a person can decide for themselves. It's the main reason I never listen to film critics. But you asked what I meant by objectively, and that's what I meant. :)

My favourite is the Optimus Solo Film!

Oh wait... that was cancelled and doesn’t exist!

Thanks Paramount and Hasbro! Lots of kisses and love! Xoxo xoxo

    Revenge of the Fallen.

It had the best Transformers designs for me, and also that sense of treasure hunting, adventure escapism.
