I know I'm unwelcome in the Prime forum, but I have a question for y'all. Which foot soldier is worse? The TFP Vehicons or the Protoforms from the Movieverse?

I'm going with Vehicons. If they get PUNCHED they die.

 

Vehicons. The fights with them are boring as shit. Pew pew with generic laser guns, they topple over. At least the protoforms were killed creatively and it looked cool each time. In DOTM, the humans had to use strategy to take down the protoforms. Prime? Rush in, never get hit, shoot a few times, every Vehicon is dead. Fowler can even fly in a legion of Vehicons with his helicopter and he kills a few while nothing happens to him.

 

Punched by other robots. Protoforms got killed by human assault rifles. I think on the scale of suckitude, being killed by human assault rifles is definitely worse than getting killed when you are punched by another robot.

 

Vehicons, hands down. As Bountyan said, at least the protoforms died in more interesting ways, whether by combination of snipers and bombs, torn up by Wreckers or assassinated by Mirage.

The Vehicons just run in, pew-pew, die, rinse and repeat.

 

Bring the illustrations of both.

Protoforms, no contest. The Vehicons may go down like a bunch of bitches, but they make me laugh, and they look really cool. I'm really hoping we get a Legion jet Vehicon, especially in that deco we saw at the end of season two. I would say that my only issue with them is the whole Steve BS, but I can't blame the Vehicons for something a section of the fandom created and is obsessed with...

 

I really dunno which sucks worse.

Be nice if we could see a vehicons vs protoform battle to find out for sure

 

I'd go with Vehicons.

 

Protoforms. At least the Vehicons always run up to their enemies, firing their guns. The Decepticon protoforms sometimes just stand in line, waiting to get killed. And we know there's at least a couple of Vehicons that can put up a fight. No protoform ever has.

Both I'd say. Protoforms may have died in a more interesting way, but who killed them and with what weapon (I mean human kills) makes them suck on so many levels. Vehicons well retirement isn't in their future. Plus seriously neither can hit jack squat. Pfft and they say stormtroopers had lousy aim.

The protoforms fought along side more interesting generics and had little design flares here and there, plus they usually went out in more interesting ways. (like the poor motherfucker who got his head blown off but didnt realise it until like a second later) Vehicons just put me to sleep.

But you know what? At least the movies made it plausible when humans killed them, like have the soldiers carry weapons designed to deal with Decepticons or when it was the heavy artillery. (Aformentioned headless dude being downed by a tank shell. You never actually see a Decepticon taken down by gunfire. Like they say it the movies it's just the distraction to plant explosives on them or use heavy artillery) Not like Prime where every Vehicon (which are fully formed Transformers, not the unarmoured protoforms) has armour that can't take a single blast from an Autobot.

People crap on the movies the way humans are are able to deal with Decepticons, but at least they gave an explanation that makes sense.

 

Ouch that is a tough question since they both die in large numbers without ever really accomplishing anything other than giving the good guys something to kill all the time.

 

I'd probably say Protoforms. They don't have any alt modes, they often fail to accomplish anything. But the Vehicons do have different variations such as the jet, the car, and Starscream's legion. Protofroms are just kind of dull, if they had alt modes that would be another story but Vehicons are still better.

The Protocons were pretty lame all things considered and never really put up that much of a fight, even when it was only a few. At least when the Vehicons were in low numbers they actually manage to do things. I would still like them more if they were like the Darkness Rising Part 1 Vehicons--seriously, those guys were badass. Even in a large group when fighting Cliffjumper they were still beating the scrap out of him.
I can excuse the Autobots being able to shred the miners super easily because they aren't properly equipped for combat--but when the soldiers are getting shredded, then there's a problem. Which brings me to the Protocons. Their deaths were admittedly more creative to watch, as they got cut to pieces, torn apart, blown up, decapitated and overall had more interesting fights--but they still got shredded to pieces as easily as Vehicons.

So, I don't know.

 

I gotta go with Vehicons, as this arguement has swayed me. Good show, sir.

 

That makes no sense.
What is more likely to kill you? Some guy punching you or fairly large bugs shooting at you with guns in sensitive spots?

 

They're both awful. I disapprove of cannon fodder in Transformers.
