It's incredibly apparent that Earthrise is going to focus on CHUG Geewuns. Personally, i'm happy to get new versions of some older CHUG stuff, and so far of what we've seen, there is nothing that doesn't interest me. but who already has a "perfect" figure that is CHUG. What are the figures that have come out since 2006 that are CHUG that you really don't see the need for a new version?

    Here's my list

    Thrillin 30s Arcee
all of the regular sized CW/POTP Combiners (minus the Dinos)
    TR classic Autobot Headmasters
    TR classic Decepticon Headmasters
    TR Perceptor

I'd argue Arcee can use some improvements, though I do like TR Arcee, thrilling 30 just didn't do it for me. Nautica doesn't need to be remade though a mass release one would be good. I'd say Drift is perfect, as is Deadlock. The Headmasters are all good IMO, As for Combiner Wars, I'm good with them though Brawl needs a little more love and the thighs of Bruticus/Defensor/Megatronia/Victorion all need some kind of redo. Legends God Ginrai is good, Sideswipe, Red Alert, are both also good. Prowl I think needs some love, though I like his CW mold, and Siege mod, I just feel like Classics Prowl was top Prowl and the US got the short end of the stick with the paint issues. Classics Cyclonus would be hard to imrpove upon, Reflector really holds up well.

I wouldn't be averse to a redux of the Headmasters if they could be designed in a way that their heads aren't required to be removed between modes.

Socurge, '84 bots. I need a new galvatron, the cyclonus is a bit too small, I could go for a CW redo in like 10 years.

    Got a few.

Optimus Prime. With Earthrise Optimus Prime being basically THE definitive G1 Optimus update there's no need to revisit it at all aside from the obvious repaints he'll get.

The Existing G1 combiners from CW/POTP. I know not everyone's into them but it's proven that it works well enough not to redo anytime soon since we're getting the Seacons having the same treatment. If any gestalt limbs/torso needs to be revisted reserve it for the ones that do actually need it. Like for example a G2 Blast Off that uses the UW/POTP mold this time as well as a Motormaster that's more like the G1 version.

Starscream. Like Optimus he has the definitive G1 update in Earthrise so no need to revisit.

The Dinobots. I know I'm going to have rotten tomatoes thrown at me for this but hear me out. I know not everyone likes the combiner gimmick or how they're sized but aside from that they do indeed work well enough to be their own figures and they evoke enough of the classic characters to work as definitive updates. The KO companies are helping with the scale too so I don't see the need to see them redone anytime soon. If they must at least wait a while till enough characters who have yet to get much needed updates have them first.

I would welcome a re-do on CW Menasor and TR Galvatron.

Generations deluxe Warpath, Generations deluxe Senator Ratbat don't need remakes, but they should remake them so more people can enjoy them.

Everyone deserves an update someday, not right this second but a 5-10-20 years from now. Even if they are already done before, trademarks do need to be renewed. Also I don’t see the issue in redoing the headmasters sometime next decade or so, I dunno if transformers will be around for 20-50 more years but hey, options are a nice thing

Well I don't necessarily disagree with you, having spent some time collecting Marvel Legends fandom this summer it is always nice to get a new version of a character that maybe has been out of circulation for awhile. Now a lot of the toys you are talking about are fairly recent, so they are not too hard to track down. It is still not a bad things for characters to pop up again every few years because people are jumping in and out of the fandom all the time and trying to get a figure from years ago can be difficult and expensive. Although I don't think we're going to get a Krok any time soon. There are characters like Optimus, Megatron and Starscream that could take a year off here and there, I don't mind the same character popping up every so often because well I may have a version of the character that I like, someone else who is just getting into Transformers is still looking for their version of that character.

Although having said all that I'm still really hoping that we get a Beast Wars line in a few years for the 25th anniversary, because I still want a Tigertron because I never had one as a kid.

Since the Prime Trilogy and Siege are part of CHUG, my list would be...

    Highbrow
    Brainstorm
    Takara Legends Blurr
    Takara Legends Hardhead
    TR Mindwipe
    TR Weirdwolf
    Sixshot
    Sky Shadow
    Bumblebee
    Wheelie
    Windcharger
    Tailgate
    Outback
    Brawn
    Trailbreaker
    Ironhide
    Triggerhappy
    Slugslinger
    Misfire
    Seaspray
    Repugnus
    Grotusque
    Doublecross/Twinferno
    Quake
    Hun-gurrr
    Sinnertwin
    Blot
    Cutthroat
    Rippersnapper
    Takara Strafe
    Takara Nosecone
    TR Blitzwing
    Overlord
    Trypticon
    Full Tilt
    Brunt
    Hound
    Tetra Jet Starscream
    TJ Skywarp
    TJ Thundercracker
    TJ Red Wing
    TJ Ion Storm
    TJ Nova Storm
    TJ Acid Storm
    Ratchet
    Crosshairs
    Apeface
    Fortress Maximus
    Cog
    Snap Trap
    Nautilator
    Sea Wing
    Tentakil
    Jawbreaker
    Skalor
    Jetfire
    Omega Supreme
    Perceptor

I listed the Takara versions of some Titans Return figures as I preferred things like Blurr's colour scheme, Hardhead's face sculpt and Strafe or Nosecone's retooling or choice of mold.

I excluded Skullcruncher/Krok as their legs don't hold them up well and Krok's face looks scrunched up.

I liked the Titanmaster Skytread and it's a shame it wasn't released with a repaint of Blitzwing as Flywheels.

The POTP Battletrap pair were too small and couldn't fit Titanmasters inside their vehicle modes.

TR Astrotrain/Sentinel Prime was too small and TR Octane couldnt fit the Titanmaster in the truck cab or jet cockpit.

I don't think you could improve on most of the latest mini-bots. Seaspray, Outback, Beachcomber...

I'd like to have a Preceptor figure that is NOT a headmaster. Same goes for any other character who wasn't a headmaster in the first place.
It's one thing if it's not likely that they could improve on the last version, but here there is clear room for improvement: don't make it a headmaster.
I'm not saying it has to happen soon, or at the expense of another character getting updated, but I don't think an update should be taken completely off the table just because some fans have personally settled on a particular version at their "ideal".

any geewun character that has had a toy between 2006 and now.

once the cast is complete, then you may redux the ones with problems.
we've been doing "modern remakes" of the g1 cast longer than g1 itself lasted. and we still havent completed the cast.

While I have lots of figures I love that have limited posability, I think a figure needs to have at least a waist swivel for me to call it the definite CHUG representation of a character. It's also important for the figure to be able to stand firmly on its feet in as many poses as possible, so adequate ankle\feet posability is also a must for sizes between deluxes and commanders. Wrist swivels also go a long way to add lots of character to poses.

Siege Jetfire is pretty great. His waist swivel might be a little limited, but the fact he can swivel as much as he does with how his crotch is designed is pretty impressive. Combined with his dashing looks and fun as Hell transformation I'd say he's really close to perfect. Siege Ultra Magnus is also a big contender, though I wouldn't mind if you could turn his cab separately from his trailer or if his head was better hidden in truck mode. Siege Shockwave is pretty perfect though. I also really wanna say RTS Jazz, but most people here do seem to have a problem with his hood chest not wanting to stay in place (mine's pretty stable, thank Primus).

I like TR Perceptor, but I still wish there was a kit to de-Headmaster him.

I feel like it wouldn’t be too difficult.

IMO and off the top of my head, here are who I think do not need any further update:

-Earthrise Optimus Prime (as mentioned above, this appears to be the definitive Generations G1 style release)
-Siege Jetfire - I love the animation accurate style release after all these years of G1 toy version updates
-TR Perceptor - Both modes are fine despite being a headmaster
-United Ricochet / RTS Jazz - I like this mold and I think it would be hard to improve upon it
-Takara Legends Nightbird - As Arcee, the mold needs some work, but as Nightbird, it works beautifully
-Siege Rainmakers - These three were mainly on Cybertron and that being said, I'm fine with them staying Tetra Jets and not redone as F15s
-Earthrise Seekers - The Classics mold was already pretty great and scaling them up a bit makes them work a bit better, IMO.
-CW Superion - I thought these individual bots and the combined mode were pretty good. But there are other CW combiners that need some work.
-Siege Mirage - I can live with the car mode, but robot mode looks pretty spot on screen wise, so I'm good with this one going forward
-TR Seaspray/Brawn/Windcharger/Tailgate/Outback - Small scale like the original toys and great figures.
-Siege Springer - Again great screen representation and I'm afraid any more "improvement" might be a step backwards.
-Siege Reflector - Hard to improve on this design. Accurate representation, camera mode, and added individual modes.
-Generations Scourge - ship mode looks odd, but I can forgive it for a great robot mode
-TFU 2.0 Cyclonus - Great modes and an another awesome figure. I don't see myself getting another Cyclonus unless they upscale this mold like Earthrise is doing with the Classics Seeker mold.

That and if they slotted rather than plugged into place.

Anyway, Universe Starscream and Legends Arcee are perfect. Hound and Hotrod are close. Most of them are pretty decent. It's really Sideswipe, Ironhide, and their retools that need help. The vans are so obviously repurposed movie designs with their weird claw hands and chicken legs.
