I started collecting Siege, and there’s only a few that have actual light piping.

Which figures before Siege had this gimmick? Can you post a picture to share?

Probably better to ask which DON'T have lightpiping once you go back more than a few years.

During most of the PW3 the Groove mold what the only one to have light piping, except for Wreck-Gar. Combiner Hunter Arcee and Chromia did, but they were repaints of their T30 toys. Before that light piping was a bit more common.

Light-piping was standard practice before Combiner Wars. Even figures with painted eyes usually had the tooling for it.

DotM Shockwave is the king of light-piping. It can be the dead of night yet somehow his eye's glowing.

Light piping has been a gimmick since at least G2, so literally hundreds, possibly thousands of figures have been made with light piping.

RID Scourge probably has my favorite instance of it. But yeah, light piping was the norm for a really long time.

Oh so many. A lot of CHUG figures have it. It became sort of a lost art during the Prime Wars trilogy.

Introduced with 1992 G1 Turbomasters and Predators.

hmmm.. I see it now, but I read the thread before posting and didn't see it at all and that's why I was really surprised that I didn't see anyone else mention it right away.

... I'm amend my post... thanks for letting me know.

To be fair the original post said Beast Wars and I changed it to G2 later after I thought about it some more. So imafallenangel could have just been going off of my original post.

Some of the Animated and Prime toys had sculpted details on their eyes making them really "come alive" when the light hit just right.

Light piping was common on older movie, Animated, and Prime figures, as I recall.
