I was arguing with my friend yesterday as to which show is better. American Dad! Or Family Guy. So I'll put a poll to it. I love American Dad. It's much better than Family Guy. It has enjoyable characters (as in they aren't all ******ed), doesn't reply on cutaway gags, and has plots for each episode. I absolutely hate Family Guy. What about you?
I used to really like Family Guy, but I can't really get into it anymore. I feel like it's just rehashing it's older episodes. Honestly though, I haven't watched the series in a very long time. American Dad is hit or miss with me and I really can't stand The Cleveland Show. Cleveland was always one of the weakest characters and I don't think he deserved a spin-off.
American Dad isn't exactly the greatest thing on TV, but it manages to be fairly entertaining and it makes me laugh at times. Family Guy...meh. I don't watch it, I don't like it and, frankly, I'm over even complaining about it at this point. It continues to exist and I just ignore it. The Cleveland Show sort of fascinates me. I mean, it's just so awful and unfunny that I can't help but think the creators are actually undertaking a concerted effort to make the show terrible and not funny. Like some sort of meta-experiment; trying to determine whether it's possible to make a 'sitcom' with no discernible '-com'. I just can't bring myself to think that people could produce something as monumentally bad as The Cleveland Show by accident.
I love Family Guy. Sure the newer episodes aren't anywhere near as great as it used to be, but I'm almost guaranteed one big laugh per episode. I also really like American Dad and I think it has gotten better in recent years. The Cleveland Show is the weakest of the three, but I still enjoy it.
Wow, are you psychic, dude? Even if you paid me enough I couldn't find better words to express my thoughts on all of Seth Mcfarlene's shows. Wow, you're doing God's work, keep it up!
I love Family Guy and I respect your opinions, but Brian is my least favorite character on the show. I used to love his character and I love his road trip episodes with Stewie, but he just comes off as a preachy and pretentious jerk half the time nowadays.
They're not my thing. Most sitcoms are not my thing. I used to watch Family Guy and still enjoy the earlier seasons and usually laugh anytime someone makes a reference to some joke from it, though I've grown out of it and don't regularly watch it anymore.
Americam Dad. That atleast doesn't look like a carbon based copy of The Simpson nor does it rely on cutaway gags that have nothing to do with the plot.
Wasn't always the case, but definitely American Dad. There was just some point where it got a lot better and Family Guy just kind of stagnated. These days, Roger and Stan (and sometimes Steve) are just more entertaining than Peter, Stewie and Brian.
