Hello all, I am finally getting to the point in my Devastator project to where I need to come up with a paint scheme. I am leaning towards two. There is always the g1 color scheme where I would do a black wash for details, medium green for the lowlights and light/yellowish green for the highlights. I would probably do black with purple highlights for the traditionally purple areas. The second paint scheme would be a more "realistic" paint scheme. This would again be a green type paint scheme but on the corners and other parts that would be "worn" under normal use I would put metal highlights and maybe even some rust showing through. Also I would put "dirt" and "mud" on the tracks and shovels of the vehicles. Tell me what you think or if you have another cool idea you have wanted to see hit me up I am open for suggestions.
Realistic would be my vote, however you have to be careful not to overdo it. If it were me, I'd make him look a bit dirty and worn, but still make sure the green stood out.
Neither. You could always go with the ROTF Devastator paint scheme. That's never been done on a G1 Devastator custom.
If I was making/painting a Devastator for sale (Ebay) I would go classic G1 with a clean look to it, if it was for myself I'd go classic G1 with a lot of weathering and toning.
Shattered Glass is another one I think has yet to be done... No image on tfwiki for Bonecrusher... They're medical bots in Shattered Glass... so I would imagine that, if they ever combined, Devastator would be quite the inappropriate name for them. Also, methinks that the overall scheme would be reminiscent of the Protectobots. (Which I suppose would mean the SG Protectobots would resemble a Decepticon team, be called something different, and the Gestalt maybe called... Offensor? Lame I know.)
