    I suspect that was SUPER early in development even before Arcee consideration since she at least made it to toy stage

    Even if she made it into TF1 she wouldnt have been a main charecter and may have been killed instead of Jazz. Who knows

    To be fair, barricade may have been made up, but he went on to be one of the coolest and most iconic charecters of the ENTIRE film franchise and do you know why? He easily had the most merchandise released just during TF1 besides Bumblebee. For example i have a Barricade jacket and backpack, barricade wrapping paper, i had a barricade gift bag. If it had him on it, i bought it. The Barricade MPM is the only MPM I own. If i represent as many other fans as i suspect, creating Barricade was the absolute right move.

    Only Soundwave surpasses him in the other movies.

    Nah keep Barricade.

    Honestly the 07 Movie Decepticon roster was great even if very undeveloped as characters...but that's the Bayverse for you.

    His power is so vast, so boundless that he and he alone did transcend the death of the Bayverse.

    Barricade is the new Sideways, except he's better because he needs no Unicron for his eternal existence.

    Barricade is, in many ways, the main Decepticon antagonist of the first movie. His screentime greatly outweighs that of most the others and he drives (literally and figuratively) much of the plot; he's the link that allows the Decepticons to enter the Sam/Bumblebee story. Take him out of the equation and the film changes significantly.

    I feel like Barricade is the franchise's Bobba Fett.
    Fan-favorite and recognizable but did absolutely nothing in the movies.
