Been thinking about getting a Cosmos, but pretty indecisive about which.

Zeta’s don’t look bad at all- pretty good price, I kinda like the bot mode, looks articulated... don’t care for the guns in the wrists and don’t like the saucer mode.

Klaatu- looks great in both modes- maybe a little overdone in bot mode- but expensive. I’m not interested in any accessories- except for the clear stand that I may want to put a small cow in - but only if I can find one. Plus, if I understand the stand don’t fit right?

For a tightwad like me, is the extra expense worth Klaatu? Or would I be content with Zeta’s?

    I went with Zeta.

I'd still like the MMC one, just cause the window/pilot feature is cool. But I hear he is fragile.

I got the XTransbots one, and am still very happy with it.

I figure Zetas will be a fire sale on Black Friday, been waiting on that.

I had the Toyworld (now Zeta) Cosmos and now have the XTB version instead. I was fine with the TW version sans for a loose ankle, and he looks pretty good on the shelf. The guns were an issue with me at first, but I quickly stopped seeing them (seem to remember being able to rotate them in a way that didn't bother me). He was pretty fun to transform, too.

I was quite taken with the XTB version while watching reviews/transformation videos, and he did not disappoint upon arrival. No regrets whatsoever. And mine is quite sturdy, actually. I seem to recall the MMC version being the fragile one, but my memory is old and fallible. I understand and appreciate not wanting/needing the extras; I messed with them upon arrival, and they've lived in storage ever since (this happens a LOT with extras, honestly). Transformation is a little more challenging than TW/Z but ultimately more rewarding. And he looks fabulous on my shelf.

Honestly though, you'll be happy with either. Go with the Zeta version if money is an issue; he's nice enough and you'll likely be happy with him (unless there have been issues with the Zeta version; perhaps do some more research to be safe, or maybe someone else can offer input about the Zeta-specific version since my experience was with the TW version). Personally I recommend the XTB version, but 100% understand where you are at; we've all just watched the MP Optimus Prime wars, and frankly I believe that Toy Element won the day.

Good luck, and let us know which way you go! :)

I got the TW version and while I love the way it looks in both modes, which is why I bought it over the XTB version, I can’t say that I enjoy it at all. You can’t even turn his head from side to side without the eye changing gimmick engaging and knocking his eyes out of alignment. And for some reason getting his head in and out of his body for transformation is way harder than it has any right to be.

XTB all the way. It’s hands down the most solid figure they have ever produced. The plastic is thick and strong, the joints are tight, the paint is thick and glossy. The transformation is clever without being complex and you don’t have to fear breaking something. I honestly think Klaatu represents the current high point in XTB’s career.

I absolutely love xtb’s klaatu. If every mp style bo was made this quality
I would be enthralled. Good luck!

XTB is better but toyworld/Zeta is good enough that if you get it you probably won't feel a strong need to switch it up.

Klaatu, if for no other reason than the name.

I have the Xtransbots one and it's perfect for me. I want the G1 look and he's built surprisingly well despite Xtransbots old reputation.

I've got the zeta one and he's fine for me. I do like the look of the XTB one but for the price of zeta I really can't complain at all with the one I have

I have Toyworld's and I like it. The face moving out of alignment when turning the head is annoying. I took off the wrist blasters, which makes it look better. Honestly, If I didn't have a Cosmos, I would probably go for XTB's. But, I'm happy with what I have.

XTB. If I were one of those types that buys a figure, poses it on a shelf, and never touches it again I could live with Zeta, but that alt mode looks more like a trash can than a saucer.

    I only have one of those, and it's Klaatu. Lovely figure;

    - feels very solid (though I recall a few people having thigh issues)
    - fun, involved transformation
    - pretty well articulated (bit limited in feet/ankles due to character design: feet are pretty massive).
    - aesthetically great.

Do yourself a favor and go with Klatuu from XTB. I bought Toyworld's version, and while it is nice, is no match to XTB version, specially the last version that is painted. Here you really get your moneys worth, one of the best XTB efforts imo.
