I grew up with the G1 cartoon. I've been hooked since 1984.

I've got some enjoyment out of every TF continuity since.

My first series was Beast Wars as a kid, so I really enjoy the Beast Era. Now as an adult, I really loved the Animated universe. It has a nice blend of originality and elements from past eras.

Beast Wars and Unicron Trilogy. Beast Wars got me hooked, but UT was when I began collecting for real. My first toys were Armada Hot Shot and Sideways. Been a fan ever since BW. :D

I grew up with Armada and the Unicron trilogy, so I have to say that, but also loved the aligned continuity. Even though it never kept itself together much.

Fuck it, I'll admit it, though I loved Beast Wars and the Unicron Trilogy, it was really the Live Action Movies that got me really back into the franchise. It's what got me watching the shows from front to back and looking into the mythos.

Continuity FAMILY is bullshit made up by the wiki. That is a nonsensical term that means nothing and only makes convoluted things more convoluted. (so yeah, I just ignored those words in parenthesis on the poll, like Primax *rolls eyes*)

But just plain "continuity" is a real word that means real things and has been used in relation to fiction since time immemorial.

There are G1 characters IN Beast Wars (Ravage, the Ark crew including Optimus Prime), so clearly some version of them are part of the same story.

Just saying, BW is not a continuity. Its part of the G1 continuity.

This needs framed somewhere, or sent to everyone who runs TFWiki. Also to tell them that they stair pushing Skywarp and prick Prowl jokes started as unfunny and only get worse the farther down the wiki it goes.

And where the hell did those parenthesized terms come from anyway?

As for what continuity made me fall in love with TFs? Same one that got me here: G1. It turns my stomach that my vote can technically be a vote for BW, but nothing I can do about that. Just so long as they don't lump Aligned into G1 I'm good.

The whole g1 continuity is probably what got me back into transformers in the first place. I grew up with beast machines and armada as a kid but never really noticed g1 until a couple of years ago. Initially, I only liked it because the autobots turned into actual real cars but once I looked past that I got deeper and deeper into the continuity and found it to be pretty cool, specifically masterforce and victory.

What do you expect them to do though? Split every version of a character to seperate pages? Have Henkei Starscream get a page of his own? Now, THAT would convolute things. The family concept was made to simplify things and it does its job.

What the heck is primax anyone?

It started out deliberately as a solo show that had nothing to do with the previous show, only later on did the writers (again, by choice) decide to intentionally connect it to the previous marvel/sunbow cartoon.
I think that too many seem to either not know this, or they dislike beast wars and want to deny the connection etc.
It's all a bit silly really, I don't give a shit one way or another. Makes for interesting nonsense to write about though. Which is why I'm doing an upcoming article on retro-active tf lore.

    Universal stream - Transformers Wiki
It's just the way the FunPub writers canonized tfwiki's "continuity family" system.

I think you described why no one counts it, they decided to write themselves in retroactively.

The first series I watched was Cybertron, which I watched when I was 7 (for reference, I'm almost 18 now). However, I got into Cybertron after it was done airing (watched the reruns on Cartoon Network) and so at the same time, I was exposed to a lot of 2007 movie stuff. Then I got into G1, Armada and Energon. Then Animated came out. Animated was my favorite Transformers cartoon I'd seen, but I liked all the cartoons...even Energon. Also, I initially didn't like the movie Transformers but I warmed up to them later.

I liked Transformers until around the time RotF came out. Then I started liking Star Wars more and stopped liking Transformers. I got back into Transformers in late 2010, but I stopped about a year later when I hit middle school. I got back into Transformers in spring 2013 and have liked them to this day.

G1. I never left. Carried the torch during the dark years. Loved G2. Absolutely fell in love with Beast Wars. The Dreamwave resurgence was amazing. Prime was a special moment and I like alot of what IDW is doing.

Well I am voting the G1 era cause that's the era I got into transformers. Then in 2002 the reissue series from G1 figures got me collecting again seriously up till the current which is titans return.
