So after the announcement of Superion and next year's "theme", who should be our next G1 combiner?

EDIT: Can a mod move this please? Clicked the wrong forum by mistake :lol

After experiencing FoC Bruticus and seeing the official offerings today, I'm not all that hyped for Superion and he's my favorite combiner. I'd like to see what Hasbro has to offer but my exceptions for him and any Hasbro combiner are, unfortunately, pretty low.

But to actually answer the question... Computron and Menasaur are the two that I think I'd have to vote for.

    Where's the "G1 non-sucky" Bruticus option?

Honestly, and because he's my favorite, I'd like to see Hasbro's take on a modern Computron.

Liokaiser and Landcross :)  Because if they are going to insist on all combiner members being the same size they should concentrate on 6 member teams

I'm hoping that Hasbro learned its lesson from FOC Bruticus and that Superion might actually turn out to be a surprisingly good collection of figures. Hasbro has done it in the past with great offerings like Springer, Bombshell, Sandstorm, Metroplex, etc. Until we have an actual photo reveal, I'm going to wait and see and hope. If Superion turns out well then bring on the Devastator!!!!!

what line will be making the combiner? are the components voyager, deluxe, scout, masterpiece?

it think they should be able to do a decent combiner. just whatever they did with bruticus, don't do that. lol. god that was so bad...

    ABOMINUS.

Someone needs to take on those two computrons. I'd love Liokaiser as well...but too soon....too soon.

I'd love to see Devastator tackled by another comp...

    :rock

    Yes! YES! YES!!

I wanna see MT or FP tackle a ground up Bruticus...

I do like WBs take, but not love...and he's too large for my personal collection...though if nothing better comes along, I'll settle...

ALL OF THEM. Though Menasor probably should go after Superion, given how they're kinda rivals and all (and my favourite combiner team). Wouldn't be opposed to new versions of RiD Rail Racer and Landfill to help fill out the Autobot combiner ranks. Maybe a new Armada Perceptor just for the pure hell of it.

I appreciate the efforts that Hasbro went to into making FoC Bruticus, but as others have pointed out, his creation came at a time where Generations was hitting it's lowest point, and that the in-game models couldn't be correctly transferred over to toy forms within Hasbro's allocated budget, nor had Hasbro attempted a scramble-city styled combiner in many years. Add to the simplified transformations present across the FoC figures in general and we landed with an unfortunate final product.

Since then, Generations has returned as strong as ever, and without a strict piece of fiction to focus the Aerialbots design upon, I strongly suspect that Superion will be a large improvement over Bruticus. It will never be as posable/G1 accurate as a third-party offering because 3P figures cost 3-4x more and thus there can be additional paint/articulation. However I do expect that for Superion that they will be able to share a core robot mode, and remold the exterior into a different style of plane, this way we'd see four unique deluxe figures, as well as a new voyager Silverbolt.

Repaint wise it could easily get a G2 release as a ComicCon/Botcon/Store exclusive, or as a new set of Decepticon seekers potentially.

I'm optimistic about this as I wasn't impressed by Uranos and I prefer to buy official product when possible, i'm very eager to see the silhouette and first figures.
