Chromedome, Whirl, Swerve, Tailgate and Rung

 

I find all the Stunticons alone fascinating due to all having serious mental issues. Breakdown being paranoid, Dead End the eternal pessimist, Wildrider being a terrorist/anarchist, Dragstrip essientially being Charlie Sheen (WINNING!) and off course Motormaster being a big fat meanie head who abuses his team both psychologically and psychically.

How about the fact the ONE thing that anybody remembers from pre-release hype about FOC is Grimlock being a "SPACE T-REX"? And how aside from being the reason why Metroplex had to eventually sacrifice himself to get the Ark launched, he and the other Dinobots may as well not be in the game with how detached they are from the main plot?

The rest of the Dinobots have the problem of just not being unique enough. Sure, they turn into prehistoric creatures, but aside from Swoop being slightly friendlier than the others they're PAINFULLY generic, yet people want them for whatever reason in everything.

Yeah, "not overhyped" my foot.

 

Trailbreaker.

Seriously, the fanboys have been bleating for trailbreaker for years simply because there wasn't a new one. Not for any love of the character (he's barely ever been shown to have one) but to fill a gap on the shelf. A gap that is only going to be filled because Hasbro had to start scraping the bottom of the first season barrel.

 

Overrated?

Post 07 Bumblebee. He's overrated, hardcore!

Grimlock. Yawn.

Beast Wars Megatron. Big purple T Rex. What the hell is he, Barney? Yesssss.

Waspinator. Big crunchy bug that blows itself up for the lols.



Now for my Underrated list: Starscream. Oh Screamy, I could have your babies.

Barricade: You make my engine rev, honey.

Sunstorm: You big beautiful boy you!

 

As far as fandom overhype is concerned, as opposed to media overhype; Definitely BW Dinobot.
Code of Hero makes me cringe every time I see it, with all its contrived score and exasperating melodrama.

Because of Dinobot there's a generation of fans who have been misled into thinking 'Honour' [Honor for most of you] is interchangeable with 'dignity'
(Arguably though, he eventually found some Maximal honour just before he died.).

 

Megatron is a dinosaur that came to our location

In the fans eyes starscream. In hasbros eyes bumblebee.

 

Slipstream. She barley did anything in Animated, returns with a three-bar lifebar in WFC, and everyone loves her. I don't hate her, but I don't love her.

 

Definitely the Optimus & Bumblebee pairing from 2009 thru 2012. At least one had to be in every line, size class, case assortment, media, and piece of merchandise during that time.

 

Bumblebee. If not for the current incarnation in RID, I'd be happy if I never saw that little yellow bastard ever again.

 

Movie Barricade and Movie Sideswipe. They have cool alt modes but they did not much. Well Barricade had a funny scene where he asks about an eBay-Account. Sideswipe had the cool slicing action. That's it.

 

my wife wanted to see what all the Transformers hype was about so she watched some G1 episodes with me. She loved Starscream at first because he was ambitious... until we watched "Countdown to Extinction" where he tried to blow up the Earth. Now she hates him.

As far as overhyped, I would definitely say Swerve. For some reason this squat chatterbox actually receives more panel time than Rodimus, Ultra Magnus and Cyclonus combined. It's nauseating to a true G1 fan like me.

Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Soundwave, and Starscream.

 

Megatron,Starscream & Bumblebee. I can't stand them & I wish other characters were as popular.

I wish they just left Optimus & Megatron dead & let Rodimus & Galvatron take over.

 

Nemesis Prime we've gotten too much of, but there have only been 3 Scourge toys and one character. Nemesis Prime has a dozen toys and no character. Scourge has something no Nemesis Prime does - characterization. I really dislike when people consider them interchangeable just because they're both "evil black Optimus". Scourge is evil black Optimus with a story to him. The original black Laser Prime, the Spychanger, and Destructicon Scourge. Well, plus the FP exclusive, but I'm pretending it doesn't exist. (Oh sure, Black Shadow we get at retail, but a remake of a character we actually saw in this hemisphere ends up a FP exclusive. Justice? I think not.)

If anything, we need more RiD homages, Scourge included.

 

Optimus and bumblebee of course, soundwave to don't think I need to explane any of them, lastly predaking, got a fantastic bio never did anything of note in the show or comic and the toys on there own were pretty weak.

 

There's a little characization for nemesis prime towards the end of armada, at least
