Gears! Why does he get his own episode in G1 and not Huffer!?

-joke (but I really do wish Huffer had got an episode   )

 

Gears sucks. I hate his guts.

Huffer though is cool because he helps Optimus out when he can't carry his trailer because he's a nice chap.

I hope Huffer gets to be in Beast Hunters. He deserves a day in the limelight much like Smokescreen got to do.

 

Oh, and Bumblebee too. At least from one point of view.

Why?

Arcee is the smurfette, but has no fixed character traits. Just once I'd like for a series to not treat her as the default female transformer.

Starscream's treachery is rarely given a decent explanation; he's just there. I like him (and all these other characters) done well, but most writers seem to be too lazy for that and instead only focus on him being an inept coward who wants to be in charge, thus making the Megatron of the series look inept.

Camaro bumblebee has become famous for why? He doesn't have a real character (or possibly any), and just stays in the background in Prime. But man, he turns into a cool car (which bumblebee shouldn't by the way). Let's make a 100 more of him.

Grimlock- the poster boy of "bad ass" rule of cool spotlight hogs for transformers the same way wolverine is for the x-men. There are plenty of other characters (even some other t-rex's) who don't have to shout how awesome they are to show you, but ever since Furman, Grimlock's been nothing but overhyped. Once again, any character can be good if written well, I just wish more characters could have their chance.

We need to get to the west cost and get her into the show "Pimp my ride". Hand it over to Xibit, he can fix it. I bet.

 

The other thing that rarely gets a decent explanation is how Starscream manages to be second-in-command. It seems like there's never a good reason for him to be second-in-command except that he's Starscream and Starscream is 'supposed to be' second-in-command of the Decepticons. Prime is especially bad for this.

It would be nice if someone could find a middle ground between "superspecialawesome badass best TF ever Grimlock" and "mentally handicapped Grimlock", since those two extremes are about the only interpretations of the character.

As much as I love the character in most of his iterations I’d have to say Grimlock. He’s become the Beyonce / Justin Timeberlake of the Dinobots … Swoop, Snarl, Slag, Sludge, all worthy of some love too.

I’ll also mention Nemesis Prime. I can respect what a fan favourite he is for many but for me he’s just Prime painted black, he leaves me a little cold.

 

May I introduce you to Prime Nova. Read up on him. Now that is a pure "Nemesis Prime".

He even took that name for his own.

 

I think the original cartoon was better at showing Starscream as Megatron's enforcer. He wasn't always just the traitor, he occasionally wanted Megatron's approval. The other shows did this a little bit but they mainly jumped to "yeah, he's the traitor."

 

G1 Ultra Magnus.

 

Most, if not all, of the original Ark crew. I've never seen another group of characters be so beloved for (in most cases) doing absolutely nothing at all. Only a small handful of them did anything of consequence outside of trading blows with Decepticons. I think most of their appeal deals with falling in love with the design/voice/toy of whichever character.

And I hate huffer and I dispute saying he was a nice fellow. The only good thing he ever did was that one instance of carrying Optimus's trailer. The rest of the time he was a negative ninny full of himself telling everyone else why they could never do something. To which, like it does for most people with that attitude, it would always fly back right in his face and make him the fool. I hate that prideful pessamistic S.O.B.
